I don't know why all the fuss about this dude he's been linked with transfers with these three teams in several sources now...

Report: Manchester United And Chelsea Join Arsenal In Race To Sign Barcelona Centre-Back Dmytro Chygrynskiy

Arsenal face competition from Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City to land Barcelona centre back Dmytro Chygrynskiy, according to Catalunya Radio.

The giant Ukrainian is understood to have been made available for transfer after struggling to adapt to La Liga after joining from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer for Ģ22 million. President Joan Laporta is reported to have offered the 23-year-old to Arsenal as a makeweight in the deal to sign Cesc Fabregas.

This bid has led to the Premier League trio and Bayern Munich joining the battle to secure his signature. An impasse has been reached with Barcelona about their valuation, however, as none of the sides are prepared to offer more than Ģ12m.

Barcelona consider move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres

Barcelona are reportedly weighing up the merits of a move for Liverpool hot-shot Fernando Torres.

The Spain international's future at Anfield looks to be the subject of much speculation after seeing compatriot Rafael Benitez depart the club on Thursday following a disappointing season with the Reds that saw them finish seventh in the Premier League.

Barcelona's interest in Torres is not exactly new as the former Atletico Madrid star was already on the Catalan club's agenda last summer, but a transfer never materialised.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old striker, who cost Liverpool a fee in the region of Ģ25 million, but it is believed the Blues' preference lies with Barca's Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Atletico forward Sergio Aguero.

News daily Sport claims that, after spending around Ģ32m on signing David Villa from Valencia, Barcelona's move for Torres would always depend on Ibrahimovic being sold first, with the Swedish ace having a Ģ40m price tag.

lol Liverpool fans are joining the Arab race on who can burn the most US Flags

Liverpool supporters burn American flags outside Anfield in protest against Tom Hicks & George Gillett

Anger overflows on Merseyside...

By Zack Wilson
4 Jun 2010 07:50:00

Liverpool fans expressed their anger about the way in which the club has been run by burning American flags outside Anfield following the departure of manager Rafael Benitez from his post on Thursday.

Around 500 Reds fans were involved in the protest, which began outside the Kop at around 18:00 GMT and was organised largely through social networking websites.

Protestors were keen to stress that the demonstration was in no way an attempt to persuade the owners to retain Benitez as manager but rather against an ownership regime which has seen debt at the club spiral.

"This is another example of how this club has become the biggest farce in town. In a sense, Benitez is just collateral damage. When you look at Liverpool in a general manner, who will want to take the club on?" Paul Rice, of the supporters’ group Spirit of Shankly, said, according to The Daily Telegraph.

One banner at the protest read: "Thanks Rafa. Purslow $$ Yanks Get Out Now."

Supporters are also believed to be concerned about the role of chairman Martin Broughton in the club's day-to-day running.

Broughton, also chairman of British Airways, has always stressed that his role at the club was non-exectuive and he was not involved in running the affairs of the club.

Rather his role was created to help facilitate more investment in the club, along with managing director Christian Purslow.

But Purslow is still in post a year on from being appointed, whilst Broughton's name was one of those which appeared on the statement confirming the departure of Benitez.

Reina urges Gerrard: don’t follow Rafa
Steven Gerrard must stay even if Rafael Benitez stays

Rafa Benitez is expected to leave Liverpool in the next 48 hours once his severance pay has been agreed.
That’s the word on Merseyside where Rafa’s reign will come to an end, with Roy Hodgson emerging as an early favourite to replace him.
With all the ongoing issues regarding ownership and possible sale of the club, Liverpool are in turmoil after their worst season for years.
News broke of Benitez's likely departure last night, with the Spaniard believed to be on the brink of leaving Anfield.
Sources have suggested that Benitez has lost the support of senior figures within the dressing room, with key duo Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard linked with summer departures if the manager stayed.
Whether Benitez stays or goes, keeper Pepe Reina hopes Gerrard and Torres commit their futures to Liverpool, as he did by signing a lengthy new deal before the end of the season.
"I hope Gerrard doesn't bring anything to Real Madrid and that he stays a long time at Liverpool, that he is with us for the rest of his career." said the Spain goalkeeper.
"I understand that something will happen, that Real Madrid's interest in Gerrard will become manifest because Mourinho knows him very well and he is a footballer who can play in any team in the world.
"He is part of the elite, among the ten best in the world because he is a very complete footballer. Let's hope they don't take him away."
Of the possibility of Benitez leaving, his agent was non-committal and Manuel Garcia Quilon said: "We don't know anything more than what's being said. We're not saying anything."

Arsenal secure Argentine starlet
Arsenal - Emilio Damián Martinez granted work permit for move

Arsenal have secured the availability of young keeper Emilio Damián Martínez after the Argentine was granted a work permit.
The 17-year-old stopper signed for the Gunners following a trial last August, but has only just received the permit that makes him available for Arsenal U18s next season and higher if needed.
Arsenal blog site Young Guns had previously revealed that Arsene Wenger had landed the Argentine U17 international, who returned to parent club Independiente following his initial signing.
The Gunners then invited Martinez back to north London a few months back, confident that they would be able to secure the necessary paperwork for the talented teenager.
Martinez becomes available as of July 1st, and is expected to become the number one next season for the Academy side. He will also be available at the higher levels should Frenchman Wenger decide to promote the stopper through the ranks.
A behind-closed-doors debut for the Gunners against Colorado Rapids is thought to have taken place in March, and Martinez now holds an incentive-based contract in the region of Ģ1.3 million.

alright if Fernando moves to Barcelona then Barcelona will indeed be the next big thing.

As for Gerrard: I agree with Reina, Real Madrid is the players graveyard ( so far I don't if it will remains the same now that Morinio is in charge). but still Gerrard made a career at Liverpool it will be a shame to see him leave.

But on the other hand 2009-2010 was the worst season in Liverpool history, because of the injuries and all that but u know something I respect this team because even with all the injuries they were still able to win some matches and arrive to the semi-final of the European Cup.

in conclusion, if fernando torres and Gerrard move, that will be the death of Liverpool specially that the board dont have any plans to buy new "big names"

They don't have money. They are in one of their worst eras. I mean they might end up fighting out of regelation if Mascherano-Gerrard-Torres not only because of how good they are but because it will psychologically blow the club.
