Manchester United Consider Move for £12m Barcelona Star: Sir Alex Ferguson Interested in Teenage Sensation Bojan

http://i50.tinypic.com/1zey438.jpg

by Christian Bailey
on May 30th, 2010

Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly interested in signing Barcelona starlet this summer as he looks to strengthen his attacking options. The Manchester United boss is apparently ready to make an offer for the £12m rated teenager and hopes that he can tempt the Catalan giants into selling a player who is something of a cult hero at the Nou Camp.

The 19 year old attacker has found first team opportunities limited over the past season and may feel that the time is right to make a move from the La Liga title holders now that Pepe Guardiola has signed up David Villa last week.

Manchester United are keen to bring in attacking alternatives to help share Wayne Rooney’s burden. Michael Owen’s constant injury woes and Dimitar Berbatov’s poor form have left Ferguson relying too much on his England international goal machine.

Bojan only managed 16 starts last season but managed to impressively net 12 goals in all competitions.

Real Madrid move for Liverpool star Steven Gerrard

http://i45.tinypic.com/2qxrskg.png

2 Jun 2010 08:06:00
Real Madrid have set their focus on signing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, according to news daily Marca.

New Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of the England international's qualities, having tried to sign him during his time at Chelsea.

The self-proclaimed 'Special One' is scouring the market for players to add to his side as he looks to guide Los Merengues to their first Champions League trophy since 2002.

Marca indicates that manager Rafael Benitez's stay at Anfield could induce Gerrard's departure from the Reds, whom he has represented his entire career.

The Spanish daily also claims that Liverpool, who finished seventh in the Premier League, are in serious need of cash to buy new players in the summer and could therefore be willing to negotiate.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho targets Wayne Rooney, Maicon & Diego Milito

http://i50.tinypic.com/verq88.png

2 Jun 2010 09:48:00
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has made Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney his prime transfer target this summer, according to Spanish daily Sport.

The Portuguese is also apparently planning to raid his former club Inter for striker Diego Milito and full-back Maicon, who could cost £58.2 million (€70m) all together.

"We need four centre-backs at Real and that's exactly the number we have now with Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Pepe and Ezequiel Garay," Mourinho was quoted as saying by AS.

"I also want to have four full-backs in my squad, but we have only two in the team at the moment. Therefore, we desperately need to make some signings in that area."

That confirmation from Mourinho that he is looking to recruit more full-backs adds credibility to the speculation linking him not only to Maicon but also to another of his former charges, Chelsea's England left-back Ashley Cole.

Regarding Rooney, Sport claims that Real would be ready to pay a world record £94m (€113m) for the United star, with forward reinforcement also a priority after the underwhelming impact made by Karim Benzema last season.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is sure to fight to keep Rooney whatever happens, although the debt situation at Old Trafford may tempt the club's hierarchy to sell.

Arsenal want cash plus Barcelona defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy for Cesc Fabregas

http://i50.tinypic.com/2q0ud15.png

2 Jun 2010 13:30:00
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger wants to have Dmytro Chygrynskiy included in Barcelona's offer for Cesc Fabregas, news daily Sport claims.

The Ukraine international joined Barcelona from Shakhtar Donetsk for €25 million (£21m) last summer, but a series of disappointing performances have relegated him to the periphery at the Camp Nou.

Chygrynskiy is the fifth choice centre-back in the Blaugrana's pecking order, and with his situation unlikely to improve next season, the 23-year-old is assessing his options.

Barcelona have so far been unable to reach a compromise with Arsenal regarding a transfer fee for Fabregas, with their initial £30m bid for the player expected to be flatly refused. A player-exchange deal is considered more likely, and after Yaya Toure rejected the thought of moving to the north London club Wenger is now keeping Chygrynskiy under the microscope.

The arrival of Chygrynskiy at the Emirates would certainly provide a considerable boost to Arsenal's defensive sector, which suffered the loss of Kolo Toure to Manchester City last summer.

Arsenal refuse to speak to Barcelona over possible Cesc Fabregas deal

Arsenal are now refusing to even speak to Barcelona about Cesc Fabregas after becoming increasingly dismayed by the Spanish champions' tactics in trying to sign their captain.

http://i46.tinypic.com/2d9zm12.jpg

By Jeremy Wilson
Published: 8:09PM BST 02 Jun 2010

It follows a first offer from Barcelona for Fabregas on Tuesday evening of £29.2 million that was immediately rejected. Arsenal value their captain at beyond £45 million, meaning Barcelona would need to increase their offer by around £15-20 million for it to be given any consideration.

Tuesday’s offer was the third piece of communication between the clubs following two informal conversations over the past fortnight. It is understood that the first enquiry was dealt with politely by Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis, but that the second discussion was rather more abrupt.

On both occasions, Gazidis relayed the message that Arsenal had no intention of selling their star player. However, that has not stopped an almost daily public commentary on the situation from senior Barcelona players or directors.

The clear suspicion is that Barcelona’s strategy is orchestrated and completely flouts the general etiquette of clubs agreeing a fee on a player before there is any public statement. It is also widely reported in Spain that Barcelona have already agreed a deal in principle with Fabregas.

Arsenal’s attitude now is that they will only respond to specific offers from Barcelona for Fabregas and will not enter into any negotiations, whether formal or informal.

The club also issued a statement on Wednesday, which was their first since Fabregas informed manager Arsene Wenger that he wanted to leave, and was unusually strongly worded.

“Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is under contract with the club until the summer of 2015,” said the statement. “He is a highly valued member of the team and part of our future plans. As there has never been any official approach for him, only two informal exchanges, in which we made it abundantly clear that we have no interest in transferring Cesc, we have refrained from publicly passing comment.

“However, [on Tuesday evening] we received an offer from Barcelona for Cesc and in response, we immediately and resolutely told them once again that we have no intention of selling our captain.

“We will not make any kind of counterproposal or enter into any discussion. Barcelona have publicly stated that they will respect our position and we expect that they will keep their word.”

That, however, is highly unlikely, with Barcelona believing that they have now taken the first step in a process of negotiations. “We won’t be hasty but nor will we let up,” said Barcelona director Rafael Yuste. “The ball is in Arsenal’s court now and as we have an exceptional relationship with them I am optimistic.”

The truth is that the relationship between the two clubs is now far from exceptional and that the ball is in the court of Fabregas and Barcelona.

There is now pressure on Fabregas to publicly declare his desire to leave or hand in a transfer request, while Barcelona will need to offer far more money to have any chance of clinching a deal.

Well guys it seems official and I read it on several websites ---> seems like Liverpool's coach Raf. Benitez is gonna leave Liverpool after the news from the American Owners telling him that he WONT be receiving any money for transfers in summer, fans at Liverpool could be joining Man Utd's fans in a protest against the American Owners at Old Trafford and Anfield, bas I really think Liverpool is at danger here, I mean they're at 7th spot with no chance of getting fresh blood to their squad and their head coach who won them a CL title left and other players considering leaving..I really hope they don't fade out as a top club cz it really sucks to see such a big club falling and Man City rising just because of money! :@
As for Benitez, Inter's considering him as their coach following Mourinho's departure incase the deal with Fabio Capello doesn't work out (meaning if he doesn't leave his coaching job as England's head coach).

Inter star Maicon: I want to join Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, not play for Manchester City

Brazilian wants to renew 'Special' relationship...

By Zack Wilson
3 Jun 2010 08:36:00

Inter full-back Maicon is sure that he does not want to leave Serie A for Manchester City.

The Brazilian international has been the subject of speculation regarding his future in recent days, with new Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said to have made him one of his prime transfer targets this summer.

And it is to the Bernabeu that the player, currently with the Brazil squad preparing for the World Cup, wants to go.

"What I want is to play in Madrid and for me it would be an honour to be there and a great opportunity in my career," he told AS.

"With Manchester City I have nothing, I assure you.

"I'll say very clearly to avoid misunderstanding: I want to play in Madrid, I do not want to go to Manchester City.

"In addition, I repeat that I have nothing with the English club."

The appeal of working with Mourinho is clear, with Maicon believing that the Portuguese is "one of the best coaches whom I have come across in my life," and adding that it would be "really nice" to work with him again.

However, the full-back insisted that he was not discussing his future with Real's Brazilian playmaker Kaka whilst the two are away on World Cup duty.

"I have a great relationship with Kaka, but the truth is that I have said nothing to him about Madrid," he added.

"Here we are concerned only with the Selecao and I'll have time to talk to him about other topics."
