Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
loooooool man, i think ur gone crazy!
u dont need a 8800:P get a 8600gts and stick to the cpu and others, while u dont need any fancy case or motherboard. |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
I think you should focus on the CPU , RAM size and speed, VGA, to me all the others are secondary level even the mobo and hard disk.

Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
Before u buy a computer u should note that a faster CPU clock speed may not deliver the best performance . for example a 1.86 Duo Core2 is faster than 2 Ghz Intel Duo core2 becuase it has a larger L2 cache and faster FSB(front side bus).
instead of E6750 get a Q6xxx it's the same in clock speed but the quad has a 4 core instead of 2 & 8Mb L2 cache instead of 4 Mb ...el fari2 bel money between the 2 is less than 100 $ or around. i prefer :
thats an excellent budget u can choose the best |

Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
for a cpu, i favour the the E6850 clocked @ 3.0ghz
this is something that you are not gonna feel sorry about for SURE. it is a 100$ more expensive than the E6750 BUT remember, it is faster than the core 2 extreme (1000$ one) X6800, and for sure more effective than the E6750, and it deliver HIGHER performance in ALL games compared with the quad core. for the memory, u dont have to buy a kit, u can stick to 2 ddr2 667 mhz, those are cheap. for the vga, 8800?? ok, but that's a 400$ a motherboard with 1333mhz bus costs more than a 100$ a 250gb is not that expensive.. around 100$ dvd writer is something like 50$ for the best choice, a case with a good psu.. something like 50$ too. remember that you need a ups:W:W:W:W |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
lets do some calculation's:
1st of all i'll stick to my screen, speakers, keyboard, and mice. according to pcandparts:
here is a motherboard cheap and support 1333Mhz bus speed: Intel DP35DP w/Sound+SATA+Firewire+1GB Lan& PCI Express(DDR2) Supports 1333Mhz CPUs (well its cheap and support ddr2 and1333mhz) any other choice tell me plzz 110$ lets say there cost:908$(w/ TVA) i still need a case and a PSU and a ups |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
All fellow gamer, what i suggest is this:
1.For ur gaming pc, ur main concern will be ur gpu, because as you know these things die out fast and u should think carefully before investing in one. So if u cant wait and want to get ur pc now, nvidie has just released the affordable geforce 8800 gt, which is more powerfull than the gts and will cost u between 200$-299$. 2.Rams are cheap, dirt cheap, so i suggest u crank up ur ram to 3gb, kingstone with a relatively high mhz. 3.Ageia Phyx card, i know i know, its expensive, but the way im seing it, in about 2 years almost most game swill have a hugely most advandced phyx engine and phyx simluations so to counter that u must have a phyx card, as the phyx in game take a huge portion of cpu performance. 4.Get a relatively medium-high cpu. 5.I think that hd space is important to us gamers. Because i tend to install almost every game on my hd i need lots of space, so i recommend getting a seagate 400gb hd, its relativly cheap. 6.Sound! its worth investing if u have surround sound setup, other than that settle for the onboard sound device. But if u do have surround sound, it would be a good idea to get a creative audigy 2 zs. 7. Always opt for Pioneer when it comes to cd/dvd roms, surely its more expensive but will save u alot of trouble and frustration. |

MUST READ
omg!! it is a real new monster that 8800 gt, i've been a bit busy not to hear about it until today:p a MUST buy part for any gaming pc... Nvidia is challenging itself with it's low price. see the card details inside the article.:) |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
for sure i will get the 8800 GT bas lebanon "2ta3et l2amal minnou",cuz i asked 4 the price of 8800 GTS and 8600 GTS and no such parts.so probably i'll get it from USA.hope so:D:D:D

anyway a physx card costs 150$ in the usa, but it is not mandatory for gaming pcs right now. BUT, i can't ignore that it's AWESOME. |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
Do mind my pointless abreviations :P.
The company that is opting for the phyx card is ageia. Havok wants to add a phyx processing unit on gpu's. I believe that phyx will be play a major role in games in the near future, because with such capabilites the possibilites are quite endless and mind blowingly awesome! True it is awesome, just check out some ageia phyx simulations and grasp the holy spark that advandced phyx in games will bestow on our lives! |
Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
if someone is not that rich, he should wait for a winner.. it's either ageia or havok (now acquired by intel), so it's either u get a similar card to the one u have, or u put a pci card. if u can afford both things, do it:p

Re: powerful PC for less than 1200$?
When The Physx Technologie will be here?in 2 years,i have some doubt about that.
anyway it is good to got this card but later when it hit the market and the PC world. in 2-3 years, one should not spend a penny on his old PC. |
