Driving In Lebanon
Ok rumor has it that driving there is like being in a horror movie, and i suppose as being a passenger in the car it did feel like that sometimes. lol
Well i've been driving in the u.s. for the past two years and knock on wood nothing bad happened. So of course i plan to go drive in lebanon. What i need from you guys is advice lol. of course my parents keep saying no, but what makes it all so nice is ill be in lebanon and they won't belool Is it honestly that bad? ive never been in a car accident there so do we just over exaggerate? experiences and advice would be nice thanks :) (don't make me regret asking :P) |
Re: Driving In Lebanon
well, drive fast but slowly (do not accelerate), always open eyes, use the mirrors lool some lebanese forget that they have mirrors:P, use the flasher:P, cross the red light, dont stop, or else btesma3e 100 zammour warake lool. always get ready to push the brakes, and metel kel lebnene, the day u learn driving, is the day u start shitting the other drivers:W.. basically long story short, dont drink n drive,

Re: Driving In Lebanon
well my only advise is:
" the only direction that cars doesnt come is from the ground" i think this is enough to describe the situation |

Actually driving in Lebanon can take on the proportions of a nightmare lool lool Although road conditions are improving, people still ignore red lights and stop signs, one-way streets.... kal 3ade lool bs ma tense lot lot lot of traffic btw lool the way of driving ba3da the same lool one hand on the guidon! one hand greeting, one ear on cell phone, one ear listening to loud music, foot on accelerator, eyes on female/male lool , conversation with someone in next car: Welcome to Lebanon! |

Re: Driving In Lebanon
Driving in Lebanon :), u better sit tight for this one:
Driving in Lebanon is a joy for adrenaline freaks, for if it isnt for half senile taxi driver that counts his money while he drives, to the suicidal cats that keep crossing the damned streets, to outspoken gentleman whom their mouthes are dirtier than a Mississippi sewer, to the 3 years old doing acrobatic moves on his motorcycle, to the half asleep road police, to the kalamantine road selling merchant, to the potholes that u can actually see where they end, to the need to vitally destroy any chance of showing curtosy during driving.....if it weren't for all that, driving in Lebanon would be all too boring. |
Re: Driving In Lebanon
بكل بساطة بلبنان، يلّي بدّو وسوء لازم يسوء عنّو وعن غيرو |

Re: Driving In Lebanon
hahahahhahahahaha i cant believe i opened this thread or even that i worried lool
you guys really exaggerated pff :Tawa: In no time you get used to the driving there and i must say its "fun" :D not like here where we're petrified from someone named the police while driving hahah. The real problem for me was getting used to how they drive here after i came back from lebanon. hahaha. |
Re: Driving In Lebanon
2 days ago i was driving the car in the road , so this guy was standing in his car in the middle of the road blocking any access and talking to a man on the street , so i beeped the horn , and he looked at me , and he said " 3am be7ki ma3o ya 5ayyi mesh sheyif!!! People don't penetrate traffic lights any more
I see lots of things getting better actually new bridges, new traffic lights, new roads much better |
Re: Driving In Lebanon
It could be called everything but certainly not driving.
Signs and laws are only prestige and extras. You can never be good to anyone because byerkabo 3a dahrak. 99% of Lebanese don't use the seat belt 2al bideyi2 w they're not used to it and finish it by if god wants to take us he won't wait the seat belt. And some seat belt "periods" check comes, some people are ready for it. They got shirts with something like a seat belt attached to it, hek they fool the police and score 1-0. Let alone 2 people blocking the whole traffic because they missed each others and take few minutes to chat, they're in a free country elak ma3na? Or someone bado yjib shaghle 3al sari3, he stops the car in the middle of the road and leave, "3al sari3" in Lebanon is never less than 10 minutes. Not to mention road status, we're way into art, we have multicolored roads in Lebanon ups and downs no lighting on main streets and construction objects on the roads with no signs or light on it. They only remember to fix them every 4 years with worst and cheapest quality ever known. Policemen on the roads are players, trying to chase chicks here and there by opening the buttons of their uniform and show their chest's hair. My friend is German-Lebanese, he rented a car 3ala asses 2 weeks. 10 minutes later he called the company to come take the car because he had no enough skills to drive in the jungle. I am going to buy a car pretty soon and i am really worried how i am going to do it, i am a person who likes to respect laws, but is it really possible to drive with such mentality? |
