Strong belief/Logical Argument

guys how many of you can honestly admit to changing their mind, about a strong belief and due to a logical argument?

For Ex: a belief in God or afterlife....

You kept missing the point and going back to the starting point

I wouldn't call it an argument...more like a rabbit run

Re: Strong belief/Logical Argument

No one can change my belief, if someone came to me and tried to change my belief with a logical argument, I would shut him up :D go back home, www.google.com :D search and read... My belief is what I think is right, and I wouldn't be convinced by anyone. I just like to read about stuff, sometimes the most stupid stuff, I just like to explore everything on my own.

Well Jess i used to change my opinion about a belief two years ago but i realised that sometimes, logical argument aren't enough to change my mind, somtimes somthing happing beyond that logical belief, somthing stronger,
Im not saying that i so stick to my opinion if it is wrong, but what is that some stuff and belief cant be judged or prooven by a bunch of logical arguments

If someone is not willing to change his "opinion" when being confronted with logic, then he is defying logic and disregarding it. Therefore, he is an assh*le.

you can change my mind about almost everything with a logical argument except my belief in God...after all it is a belief...not all religion is based on logical facts...

Re: Strong belief/Logical Argument

Facts cannot be categorized as logical or non-logical.
Moreover, you might have a belief that has no facts to actually prove it but at least the way that you argue about it is logical.

There is nothing as belief the way you describe it, this is not a matter of "what is your favourite color ? " Therefore, eventually, everything you "believe in" should be supported by logic.

well could you explain to me how Christians believe that The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are one?? There is no logical explanation for that, but still they do believe in it....just like many other thing...

The same way two legs, two hand, one head and one torso make one person.

Think about this, if God created the universe, it's laws and everything in it, wouldn't it be God who created it's logic?

They believe so because they believe in God and the concept that the world was created by God, and that Jesus was sent here to guide us to believe in him, etc, so they believe his words so they are using logic in a way. However, it gets illogical when you try to prove that religion is false, and that God doesn't exist, and they would start saying irrelevant stuff without logical counterattacking.
That is why I previously said that those who are not willing to change their "views" when faced with logic, are assh*oles.
