A problem with my USB ports

I am facing a problem with my PC which is the inability of reading any USB devices; my webcam, printer or any flash memory.
I formatted my PC when i had that problem, but nothing happened.
I don't know either if after the format i have to install any drivers that can make it work, because i don't have my USB drivers (but they were installed when the problem started to happen befor the first format)

when i insert a USB flash memory or a cam etc... i get first a msg saying that the USB is installed and ready to use, but some seconds after i get the following message :

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8626/20937259.jpg

and after clicking the message i get this :

Can anyone help me with this issue :S ?? because it is so annoying. what to do ? and what might be the cause of it ?

Hmmm the only thing I could think of is the actual USB card (port) is not working properly :S

ur trying the front hubs right ? u need drivers for them.. but i think the back usb hubs(the ones located on the back of the case) should work properly without drivers.

Well, what can make the Universal serial Bus port not working is probably the voltage applied.

So my friend, try the following:
Start > Run > Type devmgmt.msc > Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers' node > For each USB root hub click properties then >
Power Management tab > Un-check the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" > Click OK and in the action menu above, click "Scan for hardware changes".

This should work. Hopefully.

All the USB hubs are giving me the same message, it tells me first that the USB is ready to use, then another message shows up telling me that the USB device is not recognized ! :S

Then, I'm sorry to tell you. It's a hardware failure.
Am I right? Dunno, hope not.

Read this article, the Workaround section.

maybe u accidentally changed the usb 2.0 settings from the BIOS, cuz u said u fromated the pc.

btw sho sar ma3ak bel genuine issue :p ?

@Neoxter,
He had the problem before he formatted the PC. And even if he switch it from USB 2.0 to USB 1.0, this doesn't mean anything.

Anyways, commenting on this picture:

"Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, replace the device".
Well, why not replacing Windows instead?! :p

Tab, try to connect a flash memory, then enter the BIOS and see if it is detected (The Name/Type).

Mitzidupree 04-14-2009 10:47 PM

Well, check your motherboard, and install the appropriate "intel chipset device" related to it.

Search for it on www.intel.com and download it.

It may work! (You've nothing to lose anyway)
