Is Wrestling a sport?
So Guys there was a discussion in the previous threads about this.... do u think that Wrestling is a sport? if yes why if no why not?

of course it is! even tho it is acting but wrestlers are making moves, running, pushing, jumping, getting tired!

and there are many kinds of wrestling: - The american one and the most famous (but it's just a show for muscles to media and ads) - Roman wrestling (as seen in the olympics on a tapis not on a ring) - Thai wrestling (different from thai boxing) - UFC (ultimate fight championship) these is also more....... |

Yes it is...after all the players are moving a lot...but it is a really ugly one...why do people practice it in the first place?! is it fun being hit and kicked by someone else?? :crazy:

If You are talking about "Greco-Roman wrestling" or what we watch during the olympic games I can definitely say it's a sport ...
However; when we talk about Pro-Wrestling such as WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA etc (which I know many are big fans here) ... I can't definitely say it's a sport !!! I mean watching half naked women "divas", vulgar language, weddings in the ring, conspiracy theories in addition to the wrestling (acting) is barely considered as a sport to me ... Why we don't see in the olympic games 2 chicks fighting in a pool of mud :P !!!???? Now If we use a definition of sport as "Sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful activity requiring commitment and fair play." then Pro-Wrestling barely fits these requirements ... And if I want to be generous I'll call it simulated or unorthodox sport. Thank You ... |
for allah's sake its not a sport , and defintely racings cars are NOT Sports too lool
