Book 'em or Watch 'em
Ladies n gentlemen, do u enjoy reading a book regarding any subject or watch it as a movie?
For instance, i read months ago a book called "Angels and Demons". Then 5 days ago, I watched the movie. I was really disappointed cause the movie didn't carry the taste of applying the imagination or the idea that I had in mind regarding some important scenes or scenarios. what about you? do u read? if so, what do u enjoy the most? reading a book or watching its movie?? ... I like both!:)
I enjoy reading a book then watching it as a movie... |
what a book gives u (specially in adventure books) is the power to imagine the world the author's describing, it also gives u sleep (i read Lord of the Rings books b4 i go to sleep, makes me sleepy so deghreh beghfa :p) well anyways it's nice to do both, they each have their advantages and disadvantages.
PS: a book also gives out more Info than a movie (loads more to help u comprehend the story, which i'm sure helps the ppl workin on the movie of that book ) |
A book is always better. A two hour movie will never b long enough to summarize the whole book and no actor/actress, no matter how good, can portray all the aspects of a character in a book...
All that being said, its been ages since I read a fiction book (the last one being 'Bleak House') and I rarely see movies these days... |
i hate reading so i prefer the movie but surprisingly enough, after watching Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended version) for more than 5 times, i'd like to read the book!

Each time I read a book, I get disappointed after watching the movie...It happened to me for The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, Harry Potter lol, Twilight, etc etv... Books are a lot better than the movies done
|
i didn't read the trilogy yet but i think LOTR exceeded expectations and was not disappointing
|
yeah :) well Books only give u the image u want, and u feel is right, that's why most ppl (who like reading) would like books more than their movies, cz they can see the world they want in their imagination instead of seeing it from some1 else's mind..
PS: Orange Kitty 3anjad i suggest u read The Hobbit b4 u carry on with reading LotR :ang: |
I think both have their merits but books are much better because as a reader you will be more involved in the matter plus you have the time to analyse and for your brain to digest the information, you can put the book down then pick it up anytime you feel like it. After reading a book you'll keep thinking about the story for days even weeks and thinking about every detail, movies don't get to me that way cz i think there's too much "distractions" you don't focus on the story as much, there's the acting, the visual effects, the soundtrack, etc. they say that the one thing Walt Disney did wrong was that he showed children what a giant looked like..the movie is someone else's interpretation of the book so if you just watch the movie you'll miss that experience! I'm an avid reader and an avid-movie watcher, why not..after you've read the book you'll see the movie in a whole other perspective.
