Riddles brain teasers
 
1) Mary's husband's father-in-law is Mary's husband's brother's brother-in-law, and Mary's sister-in-law is Mary's brother's stepmother. How did this happen?

Mary's father married the sister of Mary's husband.


2) Over the side of a boat floating in a harbor there hangs a rope ladder containing ten rungs. Each rung is one foot from the next one and the bottom rung is resting on the surface of the water. The tide rises at a rate of one foot an hour. How long will it take the water to reach the top rung?


It will never reach the top rung because the boat will rise with the tide.


3)Can a man in California marry his widow's sister?
....No. He must be dead if it is his widow



4) Some months have 31 days. How many have 28?

This riddle is made by Einstein, he claimed that only 2% of the world's population would be able to solve it, I think is an illusion or a mind game played by him to make it harder, any one with common sense, paper and pencil can solve it easily.

We got a data from a hospital and a small clinic, they both do the same exact job of serving pregnant women to have their children there. The data was that the percentage of infants are 60% boys and 40% girls. From where it is more likely to have the data from, the clinic or the hospital? and why ?

This riddle was asked during an interview to an applicant by a very professional company.

from the clinic, because the higher the number of samples, the closer to the naturally logical 50-50 we get. while 60-40 seems far from reality, it could come from a small sample (10 newborns or so) given by the clinic.
