Life is one of the most influential things (if not the most important) your parents gave to you, and it was the first gift given to you as a baby.I have always been interested in the meaning of names and their origins, less commonly known as onomatology or etymology.
-Do you like ur name since u didnt choose it?
-What are the names that you want to give to your childrens?why?(origin,meanig...)

2- Yes i like my name, i was named after my great grandfather and I'm proud to bear his name.

3- The names i'd like to give my children are of religious nature, e.g: Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Mohsen, Zahra2, etc... Why? well it's self explanatory

okay, i like my name (which can be extracted from my username) and i think it suits me well, i wouldn't really change it.
as for my children, i wouldn't use any name that is arabic or has arabic specific letters because it sux to sound like an arab for the rest of your life.
i like the german name Gunther, which means Gunner :D

I always liked the names : Jack, Roudy, Dany, and Daniel for guys and Joelle, Isabelle, Zena and Jessica for girls :D

i like my name very much and have never wanted to change it. my teta actually chose it for me...because up until the day i was born my dad kept joking around and wouldnt be serious about choosing a name...he even tried to tell my mom to name me "7ossa" after lamira 7ossa bil saudiyi and my mom wasnt to happy...so finally my name came along and i love it!!

as for children names one day...if joelle wasnt my name id name a daughter joelle...but since it is it wont happen i dont like naming someone after someone else. most probably something that will work in many languages..

girl names: laya, miette, isabelle, sabine, mia

i still have yet to really like a boy name for baby boys.

I was named after my great grandfather, who was a priest. I like it, it's short, it was easy to learn hwo to write it when I was a child, and it's not an arabic name, so I can travel abroad and not feel awkward saying it.

I don't know what I will name my children, names are not of real importance I think, when you think of a person, you imagine them and their personality, you rarely judge them based on their names

i'm named after my Uncle, he died with the Army back in 1986, i'm proud of him ba2a yeah it's good :)
as for my children, i've not thought of guys, but for girls I like the names Mya - Sabine - Nadine - Diana or Dana - Cynthia, they're nice names :) w boys, fi wa2et :D

as for my children i will them arabic names:

girls: Yasmina, Leila, Nour,...etc
boys: Omar, Maher, Saji3 :p, ...etc

It will depend on what environment my child will grow up in. In this case it would be a religious one, so no Mohammad Mohsen is fine really :p

Ouiiii, i know that many many people give their name to their child hehe and i could be like one of those many, but i prefer not that why a future daughter will not be named joelle ;). It is a nice thing to pass down to generations one's name, but i feel like giving them a different something not common in a family will give them the opportunity of being themselves a little more.

Since we are on the topic and it was something i read an article about recently, there are some people that buy very expensive books to get the personality that goes alone with each name and they believe that a name will truly determine the child's personality??

What do you guys think??

personally id like to pick a name a like and make sure it has a nice meaning, but i wouldn't depend on the meaning of the name to form a person's personality

I think if I had a daughter I would call her Gwen, I liked the name for some reason :p
