syria is totally a different country .

I am not with uniting syria and lebanon as 1 country (lebanon is an independant country and so is syria)

That doesnt mean i am not with making friendship between lebanon and syria because from that there will be alot of benefits on many levels for lebanon more than syria

100% Not and Never and No in all the languages of the world. Lebanon is and we are fighting probably the whole world to make him remaining free, independant and as Sheikh Bachir said : " 10452 km2". And General Aoun said : " Leave Lebanon in Lebanon, and Syria IN SYRIA". And i Hope that the rest of the world will realize that we want Lebanon for all Lebanese and free of any foreign interferences from whatever country may she comes.

I think the problem is in the question itself and not just the idea behind it . Why is this question asked ? Why are we lebanese the only ones asked this question ? Unless, syria is also asked to unite with Jordon or Turkey or whatever and the "Uniting with another country" question becomes common to all countries, This question is not for argument ...

Lebanon is unique but it should not be as such by being the only country always being told " would you unite with....." ... Let's just get rid of it ...PERIOD

and all of u should know that am against it.....

ssnp:they believe in uniting syria with lebano and jordan and palastine +cyprus!
they believe that this is the real syria the big syria...

ofcourse these days thats not their project and they adopted a total commitment for the lebanese cause as we are seeing...

NO FREAKIN WAY!!! You should have put only one answer which is Hell NO..Imagine im telling my friend "shlonak akhi!!" OMG!!!, ana sometimes i go to syria for ziyara i cant wait to go back to lebanon!!!
But i would like lebanon to stay friends with syria, and for lf-rabieh syrian occupation was the result of the war btw lebanese people, the only people who should be blamed are us...we made them come in from our stupidity and inshallah this time, which is unlikely, we become less stupid..just pray cuz it needs a miracle...lil2asaf :(

The SSNP always had the concept of " Souriya Koubra" and they still have it as ideology ( One United arabic nation facing the dreadful threat of the Jewish Clan). But the Middle East political and economical sightings and events made them realize that this is an impossible dream to pursue. ( U can discuss the SSNP values and principles in the thread dedicated to it by fida2 el kawmi.)

Back to our subject, the lebanese people are against not only unifing Lebanon with Syria as system or country, they are against unifying Lebanon with any other besided country.

Lebanon has a unique identity, it can coop with others but not morphe or merge.

they kidnapped lebanon for 20 years ... i dont think that they can now ... and this is their unrealistic dream (everyone who want to join the countries) i am 10000000% against that and i ll pay myself in order to defense my country if they decided to do it!!!
BTW syria is not an arabic country ... and iraq or " bilad ma bayna l nahrayn " these all are named " bilad al souriyan " ... lebanon , syria , iraq are countries for the syriak pple ... the bible language..

bc cyprus was part of our area and then split up over the years and shifted to be an island. Its location was with "liwa2 el iskandaron" in north syria. If u look at the map, ull c a big bay there, there was cyprus in old ages.

1st of all thx, but I think in this time, this is the main criteria that everybody makes his decisions upon. why do u think the sunna have no problem & are working on giving the palestinians the lebanese citizenship? why are the shee3a an allies of Iran? or even the syrian regime, why are the sunna allies of KSA? why are the christians & shee3a agaisnt giving the citizenship to palestinians? why do some christians love ja3ja3 although they know he's a criminal? why do sunna love el harriri although they know he rubbed the country and destroying it these days? and the questions never end

I am sorry to say that sectarianism is the main factor which drives our decisions in this period of time. It's a bad thing, but it's true. At some point of time, i had no problem with uniting with syria if it gives us benefits. But now, noo, the hell no, if we are 35% of the poputation and we are treated like shit, how about when we become 5%. Even the christians have the same problem.

So, buttom line, i prefer keeping it this way

this question is to be answered NO in the way it's asked.
If any yes is to be anticipated the title should be "unity between lebanon and syria" and there's a huge difference.
For me i can't deny that my biggest dream is unity between people
but it's not that simple, there r steps to follow in every unity.
Personnaly i dream of the following unities but i do not call for one until
the previous ones r accomplished :
- Simultanously the lebanese unity and the religious islamic one (no sunni
and shi'i anymore )
- the unity between jordan lebanon palestine and syria
- the arabic unity
- the world wide unity

Question : when is the second unity possible ?
Answer : when all the lebanese sides stop feeling being a minority in the
east especially the christians, and focus on the common cultures (same
language .....)
Plus there r conditions for it to be possible like a democratic
system like the laic one for example.

In the actual circumstances my answer is no and hell no,
it's definitaly an impossible thing to accomplish.

Do you think the problem is here, or the problem is in the majority who treats you like a minority or a 2nd or 3rd degree citizens?

u should note that it's the dictator regime that dominate majority who
does that rather than the majority itself, and the solution here is
democraty like i said.
Plus dreaming of something is far away of calling to accomplish it and

you can't call for democracy when sectarianism is driving people. look at Iraq as an example, before applying democracy, people should be ready for democracy.
