Music or Lyrics
In general, what really grabs ur attention in a song: the rhythm n beat or the lyrics? Does it depends on the individual song or do u find urself judgin' the quality of all songs based on 1 of those aspects more than the other?

Well As I voted it depends sometimes the words of a music could be amazing but the music itself could be crap and visa versa and somtimes both could be good so it depends.

In general, the lyrics grab my attention while i am listening to a song, i dont really care too much for the beat...I always find myself judging the song based on its lyrics, whether they are maningfull and deep or othwrwise...

Well,usually in a song,the lyrics attracts me @ the first place then comes the music,but that doesn't mean that if the lyrics aren't good and the music isn't bad i won't like the song...

usually, any song starts with music, so the music is like a first impression, then comes the lyrics which attracts me the most, especially when they have a nice meaning(that reminds u of someone or something)... but also if the beat was bad the importance of the lyrics will be lost,... So it depends, they're all related with each other, & they complete each other...
PS:but u've should also added to the poll the voice of the singer... |

yeah as some people said it depends...coz a song might have nice lyrics bas a bad beat and music backround...;)

well the melody and the music are what attract me to a specific song, in my opinion the music is the most important component in a song, enno the music takes you to wonderland the music is the life in its own any lyrics u put on any good melody ull have a good song.

well it depends...sometimes its gr8 music but not so good music and sometimes its vice versa... but combined together they make hell out of a song...

Lyrics without music doesnt actually make a song ..while music without lyrics actually makes a song except that it's missing something obvious ...
Lyrics and Music are both essential elements in a song, But Music is the base ..... and Lyrics is adding the flavour |

I like the lyrics more than its beat... but let's take for e.g. the Techno/Trance style.. 96% of the songs are related to its beat music (remixes, electronic base...), it can xpress some hard feelings for like: let's go crazy, or the rhythm of sadness... u can just feel it:)...
On the Other hand, the lyrics + the Music (both of 'em in the same time) are the ones who makes the song the best of all time such as "the unforgiven - Metallica"... gr8 lyrics, gr8 guitar n drums playin'... or let's take another e.g such as "Higher Than Hope - Nightwish", "Plastic Mouth - Guano Apes"... deep rhymes n lyrics + the music reflects the 100% feelings ever:) The bottom line is that music can reflect feelings, lyrics can xpress feelings too but what's better than deep lyrics n huge rhyme.. that's what makes Real Music... Music;) peace... |

Most of the time I listen to music, I don't understand a thing the vocalist says, and get attached to it before even bothering to check the lyrics lol.
Lyrics is what adds to the music, I listen to alot of Instrumental tracks, and they own. So lyrics really don't matter, They are just nice to check everytime you are free, and sometimes though essential. |

Sometimes the singer could suck but with gr8 music sometimes gr8 singer but the music sucks :p but like The Queen said usual its the music that attracts then the lyrics |
