Re: Book 'em

seems vc members are not book readers
if I'm gonna read a book
it might as well teach me something

I have been reading books about leadership and about how to influence people and attract them
so far I read like 3 books ): it's a really interesting subject
communicating to someone isn't just about running your mouth so words come out :hawhaw: your body says stuff that your mouth does not. you can get better results from people if you know how to act and if you can read and understand the behavior the other person(or people) are doing

I found this to be an interesting book: body language for dummies
I also uploaded it on the net iza la sama7 allah 7adan 7ab yo2ra

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6UMP9C1I

I didn't read it all
I've read chapters 8,12 and 13 seemed good
I hope someone reads so we can discuss some stuff :(

I've also read a book about leadership for a writer named gene klann(I loaned it from the LAU library, don't have it as an ebook ;) )
it was a good book, as I was reading it I was amazed of how the sayyed hassan actualy fit almost all the descriptions in that book
in short:
fluctuating voice(the tone of his voice changes frequently and according to what he is saying and that is very important, careful tone is not volume), optimistic(glass half full kinda guy, even when beirut was bombed, he kept heads and morality high, that was a turning point in the battle, you do realise that if the sayyed actualy lost his control during that time and panicked, hizbollah ken farat), never point your fingers towards the public, never lose your self control in front of your followers,if you cannot control yourself, how could you lead and control your croud? do not adopt bad habbits/addictions or cause any kinda scandle that might hurt your image, have a good confidence in yourself, care about your followers and what they think :D
and the books discusses in detail each point, with real life examples

wow I made a long post
anyway I find this stuff interesting ): don't know if anyone would agree

Re: Book 'em

it's just not tone
when speeching
your hands and how they move is imporetant, the posture of your body is important, your eyes and where they are etc...

there are piles and piles of books that teach this stuff :hawhaw:

The last book I read was " Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown. I really enjoyed it, it's full of suspense, once you start reading it you find it really hard to stop. Dan Brown is a wonderful and a really INTELLIGENT writer.
There was this Juvenil quote that caught my attention: "Who will guard the guards?"

Entrez dans l'espérance - Jean Paul II
I'm actually reading this book, it's an interview made with Pope Jean Paul II (R.I.P.).
This book contains all the answers you need to know more about God, his existence, how to pray...
I advice you all to read it.

Some good books :
- The Capital - Karl Marx ( Economy and sociology, the basis of the communist party, very interesting)
- The Prince - Nicholas Machiaveli (Politics, it reflects avant gardist violent political beliefs and theories from the middle ages, very strong)
- The lord of the ring 1 2 3 - Tolkien (Epic Quest, Very long and not easy english but even more amazing than the movies themselves)
- Le Noeud de Viperes - Francois Mauriac (It's in french, about a dying man who's mysterious, the book is a letter that he wrote to his wife before he died and hid it, amazing book, very impressive)
- The Black cat - Edgar Allan Poe (Mystic novel, gloomy but well written)
