the Kun Hadi Project

Life is Forever Worth Living

I Lost my Life...
Save Yours.

Every Year, an alarming number of young people between 16 and 21 lose their lives behind the steering wheel in an abrupt and tragic crash.
Kunhadi was born in the aftermath of the car accident that cost me my life.

In a courageous move to extricate himself from lamenting over my tragic death, Ralph, a close friend and brethren came up with the sublime idea to create an association to protect the young and help them pass safely the critical age of the younger generations’ greedy want for driving cars.

Kunhadi is Ralph’s mother choice to keep my memory alive and demise useful.
Kunhadi aims at helping the young and restless to drive with awareness and self-control..

Your car is not a travelling Coffin.
Think about your dear ones.
Don’t allow their lives to be shattered.

Be Brave, Drive Carefully.
Hady … from beyond

this little text says it all this is a great project done by Hadi's friends in order to avoid car accidents in Lebanon

more information concerning Kun Hadi here: http://kunhadi.org/
read what's in, it's very useful and interesting... :)

and just like what Hadi said from Beyond...

Be Brave, Drive Carefully.

dont drink and drive

I went to a party,
and remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom
So I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven,
Put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared

I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mom!"
So I love you and good-bye.

do you drink and drive ? do u know some1 who dies bcz of drinking and driving ? any touching stories? any solutions ? ...

Re: dont drink and drive

Alright guyz, i know many of u like to drift & to drive fast & thinks that he's a gr8 driver, but its a matter of life & death... You can be a gd driver or even an amazing driver but ALWAYS remember, the person comin near of u can be drunk, or crazy, or never drove a car before... These car accidents caused many damages as Im seeing lately.. I already lost 3 friendz within 2 months in 3 car different car accidents (one of them died in a car accident an hour ago) & i say they were gr8 drivers with gr8 ability & with gr8 cars but the opposite driver was the stupid morron who lost control on the wheel while driving so fast on the direct opposite way, one of them was drunk, the other one losts his brakes...

Im one of those who never learn the lesson which is: do not drive fast... I just cannot handle myself without speeding up while driving... but I think i learned a deep lesson about others unfortunetly..

RIP my friendz

Exactly, many people especially young ones lost their lives because of that, the person who is willing to get drunk should make some calculations first that he won't be driving back home this is on the personal level.
Unfortunately there are many laws that protect drivers and others from such stupid mistakes that unfortunately are not applied AT ALL (0%).
Speeding is not a problem, driving using the driving codes is a mistake, having seat belt on is something abnormal and extra tool.
This video reflects honestly the Lebanese ignorance about cars, it's shown as a joke here but unfortunately it's the reality.

i'm not sure who wrote this (i didn't), but i thought sharing it wiz you guys and plz just remember Don't Drink and Drive!

near to the door
he paused to stand
as he took his class ring
off her hand
all who were watching
did not speak
as a silent tear
ran down his cheek
and through his mind
the memories ran
of the moments they walked
and ran in the sand hand and hand
but now her eyes were so terrible cold
for he would never again
have her to hold
they watched in silence
as he bent near
and whispered the words..
"I LOVE YOU" in her ear
he touched her face and started to cry
as he put on his ring and wanted to die
and just then the wind began to blow
as they lowered her casket
into the snow...
this is what happens
to man alive...
when friends let friends...
drink and drive

:(

Re: the Kun Hadi Project

Guys i saw this on kunhadi official website n i thought of sharing maybe u could help :)

Road crashes kill 1.2 million people around the world every year. To respond to this epidemic, the FIA Foundation is organizing the Make Roads Safe campaign around the world to gather 1.2 million signature to present for the United Nations General Assembly in April 2008 to back the following action in improving global road safety.
1. Support for a $300 million, 10 year, global Action Plan to improve road safety in developing countries
2. Call on the world Bank and other multilateral and bilateral donors to ensure that at least 10% of road development budgets is dedicated to road safety
3. A UN sponsored global ministerial summit on global road safety
Kunhadi will be launching a Make Roads Safe in Lebanon through the help of the FIA Foundation.
The campaign will include gathering a minimum of 10452 signature to be part of the 1.2 million signature.
Kunhadi will explain the goal of the Make Roads Safe to the high level politicians.
Any interested company or any person to sign the petition please call our offices at +961 5 959412
Or u can go to http://www.makeroadssafe.org/ and sign online :)

Re: the Kun Hadi Project

Some useful tips from Kunhadi:

Before your trip

Check road conditions and weather forecasts.

Leave earlier to allow extra time to get to your destinantion.

Know what your car can and cannot do in the snow.

Inform others of your itinerary.

Cell phone coverage is not available in all areas.

Winterize your car

  • Check tread and air pressure on your tires.
  • Use wheel chains if necessary.
  • Inspect the brakes.
  • Keep windshields wipers in good shape.
  • Keep your windshield fluid full.
  • Keep battery terminals in good conditions.
  • Use antifreeze.
  • Keep your gas tank over half full.
  • Check heater and defroster conditions.
Your trip

Keep windows clear.

Use the seatbelt.

Drive with your lights on -
But do not use high beams as they only reflect the snow and make it worse.

Turn off cruise control - When driving in snow or wet road conditions.

Slow down - Avoid sudden changes in speed or directions.

Maintain a safe following distance - Between your car and the vehicle in front.

Turn on four way flashers - In case of extreme weather conditions.

Tips

Don't panic -
If you begin to slide slowly take your foot off the gas pedal, do not use your brakes and steer your vehicle in the direction you wish to travel.

If you get stuck in snow - Straighten the wheels and accelerate slowly. Avoid spinning the tires. Use sand or cinders under the drive wheels.

Surviving a storm

  • Stay in your vehicle.
  • Display a trouble sign.
  • Occasionally run engine to keep warm.
  • Do minor exercises.
  • Don't stay in one position too long.
  • Take turns sleeping.
  • For warmth, huddle together.
  • Insulate using available materials.
  • Avoid overexertion.
  • Use emergency supplies/kit.
