Avatars
Today as many of you know an issue happened because a member had SHN poster in a caricaturist way.
I want to make some points clear here, This forum is an open forum to everyone and everyone has the right to express his thoughts the way he wants regardless of his political or religious background. Religious men are also people like everyone else and be criticized is something normal especially if they do politics. So please, stop drifting topics away for such issues and let us handle such matters. Regards, |
Re: Avatars
I totally agree, why? well here's the issue:
a religious man isnt a LORD and the proof is involving into politics a religious man should accept the fact of being criticized as a reason of being involved in politics.. and its not a TV show where we moque.. its just one man's POLITCALLY's opinion PS: even though I dont like the fact of seeing that pic, but to be honest, there's nuth that prevent us from removing it, which is everyone's right:).. be civilised & appreaciate everyone's own political oppinion even if u didnt like them... |
Re: Avatars
I back u up guys in what u just mentioned. Vcoderz is not a forum for an exclusive party and does not put restrictions on personal opinion unless they break the rules. Whether we like that fact or not, we are obliged to respect the free space that a member has in this forum and we don not interfer in his personal choices.
We request from other members to respect this fact and not drag us into personal confrontations with any other member unless he trespasses his red-coder line. Thank you! |
Re: Avatars
I disagree!!
1- Even if that man of religion is involved in politics, he is still a religious man and should be respected as such. If someone were to put a caricature of the patriarch the same response would have been triggered if not one that is worst. 2- In islam Politics = Religion wether you like it or not! And making fun of a man as a politician is making fun of him as a religious figure in this case!! |
Re: Avatars
1- In ur opinion a religious figure should held to high esteems, but maybe to others; they wont see these religious personalities so admirably as you do. They may even have a stance against the whole principle of religion to begin with. So how are you going to be able to talk to such people, u cant just go around screaming for their death sentence because they dont respect the same kind of people as you do. And please try not to take it personnaly.....because it is in fact not directed at YOU.
2- We do not live in a muslim nor a christian country and this is neither a hizb Allah board nor a lebanese forces one. So anyone has the right to speak whatever they please. |

Re: Avatars
shabeb this is what caused the civil war .. there are some sensitive things u should respect .. and if u don't some members in the forum will feel threatened and they won't respect the forum of the administration .. if u would like to be a respectful forum u should respect some important issues that don't exist in ur culture but are so highlighted in others... u should understand the others and not impose ur views ...

Re: Avatars
When we learn that pointless aimless insult and critisism should be ignored and not taken into perspective... and that it is not a personal insult, it is then that we would have chaken off the toxic residue of our current mentality and way of life.
Do u think that the current mentality, that deploys red lines over such personalities or figures is healthy? Do you not see where it has lead us too. Dont you see that faith lies within yourself and not in what other say or do..... Joujoulika no one is trying to impose anything, why have u used that particular word "impose". Point of views are not spears pointed towards ur necks my friends, you should not take a defensive stance when confronted with such a bewildering notion like the one encountered today. You should try to understand and, we all should try to understand, and debate. Dont put roadblocks on such issues it will only help to spread ignorance amongst our society. |
Re: Avatars
This is what caused the Lebanese War because some people are really stupid to be drifted into battles because of similar things.
Back to the main point, the forum rules are clear no one is forbidden not a religious man nor political, SHN is a political figure and the attack was on that base. If you don't want SHN to be criticized go ask him to stop politics until then anyone has the right to do whatever he wants from the political side and not making fun of a religion. I don't care if you make caricature about the patriarch or whoever else since he's another political figure. No one in this forum at least is forbidden, not aoun nor geagea nor nasrallah nor nasrallah sfeir nor anyone else. With such mentality no doubt why our country doesn't improve. |
Re: Avatars
yas khayye i'm not talking about the respected criticism about what he says or about his views or about his policy i'm talking about L maskhara" caricatures about prophet mohammad look what they did to the world
tab layko once u said that Bashir L Gmayel is a red line u shouldn't talk about him unless it's goddessing him .. tab 2eza hayde mou7arramet there are other things that are mou7arramet and in lebanon for ur info there is a law that certains someone to jail for 3 months to 1 year if he even says a wrong word about a religeous figure .. i'm not saying u shouldn't talk bad about SHN's believes i'm talking about his figure .. his respected figure among lots of muslim members in our dear forum |
