Religion has nothing to do with this so dont throw any "The Bible or Qur'an said..."

Are humans inherently evil or is it a choice (by free will)?

Humans are evil: emotions dictate our life but what are these emotions? They are in number #1 greed &hatred... While humans may also b inherently gd, evil finds its way to the top...

Our environment controls us 2 act this way & actin' otherwise can lead 2 the end of ur life. As the sayin' goes, "survival of the fittest"...
Is evil & hatred the way humans survive? So does this, therefore, lead humans to be evil by instinct?

Humans have a choice: It is a choice for man to be evil cuz his rational though can lead him to act "gd'"...

i think evil is a choice:)...enno after all we control our ourselves but there are times when we are supposed to walk over the heads of some people to survive ,there are times when evil is needed to continue and survive:D....

Evil is part choice part instinct...i mean that some poeple don't do evil because they want to or need to it is part of the there every day life.. and as lf rabieh said it is also a choice if u need to survive

halla2 being evil its defenetly a person's choice but sometimes life itself makes the human evil, life can turn so hard to a person that he starts to think the only way to control it is by hurting people and stuff

The human nature is based on trust, If you help someone then you will assume that when you are in trouble this person will help you, that is the human nature.
But trust isn't bulletproof, greed and selfishness often overcome trust, and that person will not help you because of personal gain.
But greed and selfishness are a choice even though they are a part of the human nature.
Greed and selfishness exist so we can survive and have ambitions, that would mean that these two things are good when they are balanced, and to make sure they don't go out of control there is guilt.
Guilt is where we decide to be good or evil. Once you feel guilty about doing something is the time when you make the choice between good and evil. You can either do the good thing and stop what you're doing or suppress the guilt, which would be the evil thing to do.
