2 strategical mistakes made by Hizbollah.

The first strategical mistake made by Hizbollah was in the parlement elections especially in baabda-aleyh. The FPM knew at that time that 14th of february will betray hizbollah.
The second strategical mistake was around the table of dialogue.
Any country in the world, especially when facing strong countries, should make a strategical defense plan but surely not on television and not with some persons on this table that report to the american embassy. Those persons kept travelling outside lebanon and asking them to help in forcing the disarm of hizbollah, some asked help of americans others france and Saudi.
The table of dialogue didn't lead to something 14th february want.
As you know, the plan of hizbollah was that there is an 'equilibre' between israel and him. Hizbollah thought that israel would not dare hitting lebanon but of course the americans wanted to show that this strategy won't work and that is why the LF leader said that his strategy won. Of course, israel wants him a strong leader but he couldn't get it himself. Israel surely preferrs LF leader and not General AOUN .

I totally agree... that was a mistake, they supported the wrong people, they supported those who back stabbed them during the war! :@

About the defence strategy, i don't think it can be agreed upon on a round table... they need the Army Leader "General Michel Sleiman" they need some Hezbollah Leaders in Fighting and Wars, they need the ministry of defence and interior not samir geagea nor anyone else...

welcome to the forum maroun :)

I am not saying about the defence strategy that it can be agreed upon on a round table but no country in the world makes a defense strategy as a public plan. This should have been done with the army leader or with expertise in the army strategies.

No, ma the important thing is looking good in the evening news for Lebanese politicians... The whole 7iwar fiasco was pathetic! It was a cover up i believe for what was really intended to come out of it. We all knew the politicians would go nowhere with this, but what was really happening was trying to stop lebanon becoming an new iraq... For example, the 5-hour+ meetings between Sayyed Hassan and Saad Hariri. I dont think they are best friends and i think you will agree... It was to try and 'moisten' the situation, and deter the tensions between sunnis and shiites from colliding. So, the dialogue was no mistake, it was prudent. As for the reports to the US embassy, i dont really think any substantial classified info was disclose on that table... I mean, some of the participants are archenemies for goodness' sake! I think the only mistake was the Sayyed himself going. He might be the secretary general of the hizeb, but he is also a holy man and of the Prophet's descendants... He should not be seated on the same table that sanioura and geagea and botros aharb are seated at.

As for the elections, the hizeb allied themselves with the so-called Muslim four-way alliance which stood against the FPM and its allies' mostly Christian front in the elections. Now however,i believe the hizeb has realized that the Christians are integral in Lebanon and that they do have their weight after the landslide victories of the FPM in keserwan, jbeil, and maten as well as the not-too-bad results in the North where reasons for winning were linked to other 'incentives' ie BRIBES, which the FM did not pay which explains the banners in tripoli that read "Ayna el wa3ed ya sa3ed?"

ha, I agree with you. But i wanted to show that the Americans forced israel in this war to fail the strategic defense plan of hizbollah. About the round table, sanioura and geagea and botros aharb are not political decision makers, the intentions for make it work were not present that is why they failed. If the round table worked well, those persons would have lost because General Aoun asked for this table to be held.

I think the 3rd error is not leaving this pathetic government, and going to the streets with FPM

Kasparov, like i said, if Hizballah can do it, why doesn't it? Like the rumors about a Shiite coup, how it could decide who is the majority and take out this one? Because any such things could provoke the very volatile atmospere in Lebanon... Such a move, leaving the govt, will be seen by some as a 'rebellion' against the sunni-headed majority, by some, i mean this head itself, i.e. the FM...

I don't think leaving this government is going to be helpful for hizbollah especially that he is under pressure. But they can put the government under pressure by uusing the " 2i3tikeif " without leaving the government.

Re: 2 strategical mistakes made by Hizbollah.

The 2 mistakes hizballah did were during the elections when he trusted the wrong people.
and then accepting to stay in the government.
general aoun has warned that hizballah will regret the alliance of baabda alley real soon.
hizballah has to leave the government of course not in critical situations like war time. but i think now it's the right time since the human organisations and the hizb are the only ones working in da7ye and south. the government is not present to help those poor people who are homeless...
