On the actual political mayhem...

Why ?

Why have we been in that mayhem for nearly a year now ? Whats wrong ? I say it can't be the war. It's the society itself. What do you think ?

Karami said in the 70's that the root of our problems is El Mithak El Watani. If I recall correctly, everyone had agreed. Why don't we just drop it, in the hope of establishing a government everyone would agree on, in the hope of finding a common ground ?

Why don't we have any "new" political figures ? The same people that were implicated in the civil war are now leading the political scene. There's something very disturbing about this to me.

Can anyone enlighten me ?

If you reverse your concerns you end up being happily surprised for belonging to a true miracle called Lebanon which was able to survive

- Sectarian, tribal and feudal blodsuckers who have been and still are in charge since the dawn of this country
- A worm-eaten system lead by a cartel of those aforementioned Draculas
- The destructive nature of massive presence of different foreign armed forces who come, go and stay
- The screaming absence of a national unifying lebanese identity for the favour of a fragmented religious/sectarian one
- The total lack of a vital and dynamic economy (tourism and growing vegetables are not what i have in mind)
- Horrible devastating internal & external wars

How many countries do you figure are able to survive a similar concentration of miseries and manage to still be called countries? I know two: Somalia and Afghanistan. Isn't it comforting to know we're not alone after all and that we do belong to the league of improbable survivors?

Shame on this "great people" to still follow swindlers/liars/*****s/looters/murderers/foreign agents to the grave.

I'm very happy to be Lebanese don't get me wrong :) Hence it tears me apart to see my country suffering this much (for over 60 years now) from stupid sectarian agreements that no one but the sectarian leaders themselves want sustained! When are we going to rise as a mother****in' united people belonging to that "2ot3it sama" ? Isn't it about time we woke up and made of Lebanon the country every single person on this planet craves to visit ?! I'm ashamed to see us crawling under this much trouble when I know Lebanon could really be a piece of heaven.

I hope we all share those feelings and, in a future heavenly Lebanon, look back on these dark days we're enduring with sorrow, regret and shame. The lesson has yet to be learned.
