Will Lebanon become part of Saudi Arabia?!!!!

i found this article very alarming. imagine if what's written in it comes true!!!!!! :o

Re: will Lebanon become part of Saudi Arabia????

Great article....Some notes:

1- The article makes sense from the Saudi perspective, but why would the U.S. want a Sunni dominated Lebanon? IS it purely because it provides a better atmosphere for a possible naturalization of Palestinians refugees? I see the risk of a Sunni Lebanon with the kinda system in the Saudi Arabia on the border with Israel a risk neither Israel or the U.S. can afford on the long run...

2- Honestly I heard almost the same analysis of the Syrian-Saudi recent conflict on Al-Jazeera. Talking about an Iraq mostly Shiite controlled and a Sunni Syria with the same kinda religious system in Saudi Arabia after the Assad Dictatorship. The argument is plausible and..scary!

3- The role of Iran is undermined in the article or actually not mentioned at all. The cold war in Iraq between Saudi Arabia and Iran is too obvious not to be mentioned. The same conflict between the two with representatives of their sects in Lebanon is also too obvious not to be noted in the article. 9/11 gave a rise to extreme religious evangelism in the area with money being spent like never before in the connection with political religion. Certainly a wave of extreme religious ideas has swept the intellectual field in the area and ppl are getting more extreme with their ideas when we compare them with the ideas they had in the 80's mostly...

Re: will Lebanon become part of Saudi Arabia????

Buying land by tens of Jordanians Palestinian origins, Hariri daddy bought Beirut itself, brought debt like hell to the country to put us under pressure and accept the neutralization of the Palestinians in return of removing a big part of the debt.
No place for democracy in the country, more than 1 million person went to the street and the KSA toy didn't bother himself to move his butt 1cm from the chair.
Let's just hope we don't enter in another new civil war in a second attempt to neutralize the Palestinians in Lebanon.
Honestly, the only thing to finish this is to start calling to remove the Palestinian camps and send those people back to Palestine or KSA since it has more resources and can fund such big projects and mainly because Lebanon is over populated.
They're calling to remove Hizbullah weapons while they don't mention anything about the Palestinian untouchable camps that coasted us more than 160 LA few months ago.
Enjoy driving cars girls, soon such act will be illegal lol.

Re: will Lebanon become part of Saudi Arabia????

no offense to any1, but christians of lebanon r hard to control, that's why they want them oppressed n try hard to decrease their number here. so having a saudi-like lebanon would benefit usa n israel + lebanon will almost be the only "arab" country fighting israel so if they would make this country like their saudi allies, i don't think they would hesitate.
personally, i don't see a civil war but rather a war launched again by israel, usa n arab "brother and sister" countries to destroy more parts of the country, make the ppl poorer n try to place palestinians here in return of money which is of course, removing the debt n buying more lands from lebanese ppl, mostly christians who will become desperate n want to leave the country. heik they would have a country for palestinians, israel would have its country wel lebanese will be spread all around the world, but with no country

Re: will Lebanon become part of Saudi Arabia????

well i didn't read all the article but i'll answer the question.....
1st saudi arabia is controlled by usa then what are the benefits of doing a sunnit regime in lebanon?! there's no benefits and there will be more pressure on israel .........so no i don't think this will happen and 2nd this will make stronger the sunnits in syria and this might lead to a revolution in syria against its regime that have an "ettife2" with israel .....and this will lead to a sunnit regime also in syria and there will be also more pressure on israel....so they want to keep the lebanese situation like this ...no war no peace....if there wil be a war it'll be with israel but not a civil war until there's a solution to the "share2 awsat" situation .....

No offense but it seems that you forgot the civil war. Remember the civil war when Israel and the U.S put all their trust in the Christian right to :
1- Limit the expansion of power of Palestinians that moved from Jordan to Lebanon.
2- Limit the foreseen insurgence of Lebanese shiites against a system in which they were undermined. Naturally that insurgence will have to be militant in nature and therefore create an even more dangerous Nortern Border for Israel.
3- Limit a very promising "Lebanese Socialism" which was almost anonymously agreed on among the Lebanese Left.

And now after all that and all of a sudden, their goal became isolating Christians and creating an extremist Sunni Lebanon? Why? What changed?

Except for the sentence in red, the rest is kinda true. As for the sentence in red, Saudi Arabia is affected by the United States yet it is not occupation. If the United States could really interfere that much in Saudi affairs we would have seen different behavior by the Saudis on all issues. Saudi are Wahhabbis who by nature are Muslims of Evangelical attitudes. No U.S. can stop them from trying to create Islamic Regimes( sunni in particular)....I say "trying". The U.S. , and others, can stop them from succeeding though.

Exactly, it is RIGHT NOT. But none can guarantee an extreme Sunni regime.

Personally I think Lebanon is perfect for Israel as it is. Torn apart with secterian differences, financially and economically weak (and thus never can survive independently without support from countries who are allies with Israel).

Dude look at the sunnist radicals " mettarfin " alqaeda and fath l islam , are they firing ONE bullet at israel?? they have an ideology , that is kill the christians and the shiites ,control our countries , create one islamic nation , then we can attack israel , anyway a sunnist regime in lebanon = A consuming society , cuz al-hareeri controls the sunnist , and will turn lebanon into a company , any terrorist organizations that will develop will look forward for " cleaning " the country... Not attackin israel..
