Illegal characters for Windows file names!

The following reserved device names cannot be used as the name of a file in windows:
CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.

However, you can still rename your file "Windows", "Bill Gates", "b****", "f***" and many more ... :)

That Is If You Try To Rename Them With Keeping The Extension.
Try Renaming Them And Removing The Extension. ;)

Lol, That's Not What I Meant.
If You Try To Rename It Without The Extension, You Don't Get The Error "File Already Exists"

Re: Illegal characters for Windows file names!

When I use a hex-editor and try to "Save As" the file with for example "com1"
I get the message:
"The file name is a reserved device name
Please choose another name"

However, I succeded in renaming the file... :P
I used the rename function in the hex-editor...
