FATHERS' DAY HISTORY

Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a "father's day." She thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.
Sonora wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. Smart, who was a Civil War veteran, was widowed when his wife died while giving birth to their sixth child. Mr. Smart was left to raise the newborn and his other five children by himself on a rural farm in eastern Washington state


After Sonora became an adult she realized the selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910. President Calvin Coolidge, in 1924, supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law which finally made it permanent in 1972.

First of all,Happy Father's Day guys :D
My relationship with my dad is very special to me :) considering that I'm the only girl with two other brothers :D
In other words :ang: I'm spoilt sometimes :ang:):
The way I look at him now is different than the way I did when I was a kid,but it's kind of the same.
When we're small vulrenable children,we look up to anyone that's superior to us,someone who's stronger and smarter than we are.
So at that time,my dad was the strongest man in the world just because he could hold me on the palm of his hand :)
He was the smartest because he could help me with my homework in seconds :)
He was my hero :)
Now,I've grown up,but he still is my hero although I look at things from a different prespective :)
Now,he's the strongest because he works all day to provide a living for us :)
He's the smartest because he can make far-sighted desicions 4D
So to sum things up,my dad was and still is my hero O_o
P.S:I thought that yesterday was Father's day and I forgot about it :quest: ,so I was freaking out about it all morning )::P

My relation with my dad is a friendship relation :D we are like brother i think because he is still young :D 45 years :D

And for me, I'll never find a father like mine, ktir 2ese but in the same time ktir hanoun w ktir mni7 ): if I had the chance to choose a father I would choose my father :)
w akid my look changed now, not cz he changed but cz I grew up :D & I started to understand him better :D

akhhh, happy late fathers day :)

anyway, my relation with my dad is like any relation btw any girl and her dad ya3ne you can always find ups and downs :)
and i barely can see him due to his work or even talk to him but he is the perfect DAD for me :)

ps: i always miss him!
