Encryption Challenge 1

i think that i made you familiar with base64 encoding and how it works.

now, encrypt the word "vcoderz" using base8 encoding.
all the hints are in the base64 thread. let's see who's gonna do this.
(if you are 100% sure about the answer, please send it to me in PM, to leave a chance for the other members to test their skill rather than just viewing the solution)
difficulty: straight forward.

hint1: the characters are ABCDEFGH and the padding character is =
hint2: 2^6= ? does that ring a bell?
