the 1st pattern is different from the second pattern (pattern of lines) he/she draws lines in shapes that allow him to get the numbers of dots he wants.also in the second equation he added the 1 from 14 to 8 and the 4 to next side,this makes no sense..he/she is just playing with numbers with a coincidence.

I Tried It With A Different Number And It Worked
