Friday The 13th
 

Why is it considered unlucky when the thirteenth day in a month falls on a Friday ?
In North America and Europe, a significant portion of the population behaves very strangely on Friday the 13th. They won't fly in airplanes, host a party, apply for a job, get married or even start a new project. Some people won't even come into work.


"Friday the 13th" as we know it has its roots in many traditions and cultures.
Well, there are two factors that make it scary ...
Yes, you guessed it ...
a) the fear of the number 13 termed paraskevidekatriaphobia
b) the fear of Fridays ...
… makes sense doesn't it ? ;)


So now you're wondering what it is about “Fridays” and “13s” that make them so scary.
The links of both are rooted back to Christian Theology.
Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th member to arrive at the last supper with Christ and his apostles.


And Fridays because Jesus was crucified on that day...in addition to other theories such as, that Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden fruit on Friday ( they had a week calendar too ? :p ) and the Great Flood happened on Friday.


If you think that this day is just an old superstition and has been eradicated from society forever, consider that in the United States, roughly 8 percent of the population is afraid of Friday the 13th! That’s about 24 million people !

This is all wrong...Friday the 13th actually originated because the Knights Templar were destroyed by the church on friday the 13th during the middle ages...

i dont have any funky stories, but for my friday the 13th is a good day always :) ma ba3rif maybe because i was born on the 13th (not friday) but still i love the number 13. for example ive had a crappy week today was probably the best.


i have a weird connection with 13 hehe.

lol have u heard about tuesday the 26th ? it happens very often !

i was joking dont believe that..this friday the 13th thing is just an idea in ur mind..u only notice the friday 13th date becuz u have this wierd idea in ur mind, will u freak out abt the tuesday 26th thing ? no cuz u think its an ordinary thing.. its like the number 23 film it happens to me a lot but i dont believe these things .
