During war 2006, people said that HA took the decision to kidnap the 2 Israelis soldiers by themselves and by surprise, I found a video where HA to be more specific SHN warned the Israelis that they will kidnap them and that it is actually a right:

Nevertheless Legend Killer, im sure you were just as surprised as everyone else when it all started.
We were all proud and happy that HA came out victorious, but a vague and hypothetical speech was not enough for many Lebanese who weren't too excited about the war.
The consolation though now, is that since Lebanon has freed its prisoners in Israel and will soon take control of its part of the Ghajar, HA will not take the initiative in starting a confrontation with Israel again.
And since, for now, no immediate need for confrontation from the Lebanese part is necessary, im sure you will all agree that HA shouldn't and wouldn't ever venture into confronting Israel for the Palestinian issue, cause simply, we're not willing to pay that price
