half life problem(help)

hey , i have a problem with half life ! the error is" your system reported only -4044.00K of physical memory,half-life requires at least 16mb"
and i have a windows vista with 4gb ram !!

Are you using 64-bit? I have heard that Half Life is not very compatible with 64-bit Windows. Anyway Try running it in Windows 98 compatibility mode.

Right click on the half life program and choose properties. Go to the compatibility tab. Click the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox and select Windows 98/ME from the dropdown menu.
