MSN Problem
 

I am having some problems with MSN at home and work.

I had Windows live messenger 9 at home and it was working fine till i had an error "communication platform has stopped working" and ppl suggested i uninstall and download an older version. I downloaded Beta 8.5 and it worked well, now i have another problem:

"We were unable to sign u in to WLM 8.5 BETA possibly because of a problem with the service or with ur internet connection.... Error Code: 81000306"

I am connected to the internet and webpages open normally.

At work it tells me that:

"Your contact list is not available... Error Code 81000378"

Can anyone help?

Open windows host file with Notepad: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\ho*sts
Add these 2 lines to the bottom:
65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.akadns.net
Save it and restart msn
Please do remember to remove these lines when the msn service gets back to normal.

it worked at home i will try it tomorrow at work. but the file was not saving telling me that it can't create the file name...make sure the path is right and i only copy pasted the sentences u wrote and tried to save
