Unstable connection
I'm having a problem fixing an internet connection.
It was working just fine. It was a modem connected to a router which was in turn connected to three PC's. But when a fourth PC was added it became unstable. The speed and latency are fine but every once in a while the pages won't load and you'd have to refresh several times until it works. Any ideas? |
What is the internal IP of the router and what are the IPs of the PCs?
And, are the IPs assigned dynamically by the router (DHCP) or someone assigned them statically? |
Internal IP:192.168.0.1
PC1: 192.168.0.101 PC2: 192.168.0.193 PC3: 192.168.0.128 PC4: 192.168.0.103 They are assigned by the router. PS: The problem persists even if I remove one of the PCs. |
Try to assign them fixed IPs and remove the DHCP thing and see what happens.
IPs like: 192.168.0.101 192.168.0.102 192.168.0.103 192.168.0.104 |
Done.
So far the connection has remained stable, thanks. Is there anything negative about assigning the IP manually? |

No. Nothing negative. |
