Blackberry in the UAE

Hey guys, i'm not sure if you heard about the blackberry services in the UAE.

Yesterday, it was clear... the government will stop the services starting October 11.

the reason?

Ya3ne after 4-5 years they discovered that?

On the other hand, i say eno ppl used to live & work before the blackberry :)

what do you think?

The UAE government (or whatever) is just another example of how much the Arabian regimes are retarded. Are they serious ? they want to spy on people chatting on blackberry? what about planting bugs at homes ? ah maybe they have done that already. Stupid desert camels, they deserve to rot in the stone age.

And the funniest thing is their idiotic argument: We're sorry people, we'll stop the blackberry services because we can't spy on you now. Once we're able to spy, we'll restore the service. We're sorry for the inconveniences, but we're trying to achieve the best dictatorship model.

heard about it yesterday on engadget. if MSN/Skype/Yahoo/*****ass messengers are allowed, why disallow the blackberry messenger?
furthermore, there are lot people who need and rely on blackberry email service, they can't simply disconnect them. (although there are alternatives like iPhone, Android, Nokia Messaging and Mail for Exchange).
Now the BB phones are useless, and they should give a free 3G enabled phone with push email service to all people who previously had BB service.

i don't like Blackberry because of the fever in lebanon (kel ma 7ada shef 7alou ad barmil L 5ara bi jib blackberry w bya3mel 7alou businessman w byedfa3 40$ 7a2 service ma byesta3emlou aktar men 5 d2aye2 aw L a7la ennou ma bi jib L service). But i also don't like Camel Riders.

Kingroudy, BBM is not like any other messenger... the messengers above uses regular internet to share the information what means all is accessible by the providers. While BBM and exchange on BlackBerries they use the BlackBerry Enterprise Servers(BES) to store all the information. And what UAE and the rest of the Arab countries is trying to get access to is the information stored on the BES.
This same thing happened when BB was deploying in Germany and any other European country, where for `Security` reasons they needed access to those servers but RIM denied them this access. It is the strong security on the BlackBerries that makes these phones different than any other phone in the market and all the big companies all over the world provides their employees with BBs.

Unfortunately I still don`t know what line of BB they are using in lebanon. But over here in Canada lots of the youth are using the cheaper version of BB... saves them tons of money on txting.

By the way you should check the new BB 9800 torch that was launched today... impressive phone and new OS 6.
