Immortality

It's a matter of personal choice :p

Some people love living live as it is and maybe even believe that death is a blessing.

Others love the idea of eternal life, immortality.

What's your opinion? Would you rather be immortal or do you prefer life as it is now, where you could die at any given moment.

I wanna liveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

some arguments say "well, eventually life will be boring and you will get tired of it"

well maybe, but I would rather commit suicide after having tried everything, done everything, made sure life is safe for my children etc... then to drop dead suddenly and in a week be as if I never existed

human immortality is not very far for biology now, perhaps it will be possible before the end of this century, scientists already know what they have to do to accomplish that, manipulate the telomerase enzyme, what is left to know is how

I want.
It is interesting how this world will end.

I'd like to be immortal only if I could drive Angelina Jolie in my ferrari 599 to our castle in Switzerland back from my Google headquarters :D

Life is never boring. I always have things to do.

Immortality is never an option, even if scientists reached a certain point where they find a certain cure or something that extend human lives, it won't work.
Imagine a world with a very low rate of death facing a very high rate of birth. people would not find enough resources for their food and needs. they will die... immortality could never be reached, and if it was reached people will die starving, killing each others and fighting over resources, lands etc...

Personally, i find life in its current age average good enough for me :p

mr_j 09-05-2010 06:26 PM

poor people will die starving
no one is going to take your money from you, and no poor guy will afford to buy land from rich people

if they want to have 7 kids let them rot

with the current world population rise, I think the world will split between extremly poor and extremely rich, and one day maybe nations will build huge walls on their borders to prevent poor people from entering :P

no no no ! cant wait for it to get over :p , its too risky , you never know wat could happen to you or to the ones you love.

mr_j 09-05-2010 07:15 PM

why do you want to die? honestly!

if you can't wait to die, why don't you jump off a roof right now?:p

What if we find other planets and more resources? Don't look at it this way.
I think the question is whether one gets bored from living or not. It is not about whether it is feasible for our planet to handle huge number of people.
