It depends...when i had it the dr kept me on local anesthesia for an extra day so that i wouldn't feel much. But basically it will hurt if you do not have local anesthetic and you try to move around. 7/10

You will need help for the first 3 days...you'll get used to walking later on, you'll need to use a cane or crutches for the first month.

You'll be able to walk normally after about 2 months. Full recovery will be after about a year.

You'll need a cane or crutches for the first 2 weeks or 1 month. You'll be wearing a kind of brace for your knee. Like this one:

You'll be wearing it for about 2 months.

Physiotherapy after the operation is mandatory. Your thigh muscles will be like jelly and will need rehabilitation. About a month or 2 of physiotherapy ( every day at first then every other day if i remember correctly ).
After that they'll tell you to go to the gym and use some of the machines there to train your muscles.

No tips. Just try to rest up and don't move your leg a lot. When you start physiotherapy they'll tell you to do certain moves at home daily.

And as for sports: you can start taking long walks after about 3 months, light running after about 6 months and you'll be as good as new after about 1 year or 18 months. whatever you do don't try practicing heavy sports like basketball or soccer before your full recovery.

l7amdella 3al saleme bro :S well i don't remember it costing that much :p i thought the insurance handled it back then..weird....anyway if you should ever get bored try poking your thigh and see how weird it feels lool

And careful when you shower. Make sure you wrap a big garbage bag around your leg so you don't get any water on the brace...hmm....what else....Well from here on out it's patience and physiotherapy i guess...so good luck :S
