What's your favorite programming language?
Hello there,
The debate about programming languages and why can never reach an end, every language has a strong and weak points, flavor and it depends on the programmer preferences. I have seen so many endless debates all over the internet comparing programming languages to each other sometimes stupid comparisons like comparing languages to frameworks: PHP vs Ruby on Rails (RoR): By the end of the day, every programmer has a favorite language and i'm sure you do too. So post below what's your favorite language and why? |

On topic: I only know C++ and Java, and I'm kind of torn between the two. I've always been against the idea that the most basic is the best. But in this case Java has a lot of limitations. |
I usually hate programming, ever since I took my C++ course at uni, but I've developed an application during my internship at MTC where I used VB.Net and I really liked it. I don't know why people hate VB, I thought it was very easy.

C, C++ and Objective-C (anything from the C family ;))

I only know java and enough sql to know that I hate it :p |
My favorite programming language is by far PHP, i've been in love with it since i was a teenager even though it wasn't as mature as it is now but i keep waiting the new releases that always astonish me. I'm currently working on PHP 5.3 and waiting PHP 5.4 to be released and of course the long-waited PHP6.
After that comes JavaScript, i'm currently going very low level into this amazing language that in my opinion will be the most programming language used ever starting the next generation for so many reasons. After all the language is the bricks to build up your applications, however no application is built good enough without a decent architecture =) |
I learned a bit of asp.net and that was enough to hate it. I love PHP the most, i feel good when writing it. Also Javascript (especially JQuery & JSON Libraries) excites me enough to build a nice php based puzzle.

I'm required to use Python in an upcoming project. Does anyone here have an opinion on it?

You either go Python or Perl. I know both but I advice you go for Python since it is weidly used now in projects by Google and big names...
