Airports in Lebanon

Hello Vcoderz users :D

As simple as it looks, the main goal for doing this thread, is to gather information about the Airports we have in lebanon.

I created this topic too because I'm in love with airports, would like to know better about them, and that everybody could help to gather every piece of information about this subject.

Let's start by a question:
How many airports do you think there is in lebanon?

Like 1 official one and then we have 1 in Klay3at and 1 in Ryak?

fafooooo 09-06-2011 09:07 AM

True, but there's more :D

We're talking about airports now, airports in the past (but not before the 20th century xD), legends about airports, rumors...

So we have till now Riyaq - Beirut Airport (BEY) - Klay3at.

Speaking of BEY...reminds us of airports' codes...

Does anybody know the codes of Klay3at airport and Riyaq?
Any other lebanese airports suggestions too?

regarding the codes, you mean the IATA one or the ICAO?

:D That was a course taken 2 years back :p

fafooooo 09-06-2011 09:45 AM

I prefer the IATAs :D

And what about the one in Dekwaneh? :P It was an airport? Or that's simply a joke? xD

You used to study that? In university right? And if so, it's in what department :P and what discipline

Hotel management, but, i took some courses of travel and ticketing ;)

as far as i know, the Dekwaneh one used to be a military airport

the IATA code of Kely3at is KYE, Reyak one only has an ICAO code

fafooooo 09-06-2011 10:15 AM

Well well miss Jess not bad :P Just kidding yep that's right...

ORLA is the only code for Riyaq Airport (ICAO)

And nice with your studies!! I bet those courses about travel and ticketing were awesome *yes*

u forgot the one in 7amat/wej l 7ajar! the military r using it now for training and such, some small planes still take off from there training pilots and such :)

fafooooo 09-06-2011 10:24 AM

We have a winner :D

Personnaly, I haven't forgot it but I don't wanna spoil everything :P

Yes actually Wejj el 7ajar airport was set few years ago, and the goverment said that it will be a parallel airport to BEY. Saddly, as always there's financial issues and the project didn't grow normally...

One question, the Kleiat Airport is in Baalbeck or north lebanon? Because on the net, one map shows me that it's in Baalbeck, while another one shows that it's so close to the syrian territory in the north.
