Dr. Dre has reportedly signed a multiyear feature producing deal with New Line Cinema for his newly formed film company, Crucial Films. According to Daily Variety, Dre (born Andre Young) and his longtime collaborator Phillip Atwell will first focus on developing dark comedies before shifting to other movie genres. The Compton-bred producer will also play a major role in the music side of the projects. "This is a natural switch for me, since I've directed a lot of music videos," Dre told Daily Variety. "And I eventually want to get into directing." Dre has scored various films in the past few years. To date, he has composed music for "A Man Apart," "The Wash," "Bad Boys II," and "Set It Off." "Everything Dre has worked on becomes a hit, and one of the reasons for that is he never put his name on anything he doesn't really believe in," explained New Line producer Toby Emmerich. "His records have always been very narrative in nature, and you can tell from his songs that he understands how to tell a story," Emmerich continued. Recent rumors claimed that the couple, married almost one year, had already divorced. Asalah asserted that her relationship with Tareq is based on true love and mutual respect. She will not allow vicious rumors to interfere in her private life, said Asalah, adding that the tabloids were published intentionally to hurt her. ‘Rotana’ released Asalah’s latest album “Hayati” (My Life), her second release with the company, while Lebanon was at war with Israel last summer. Asalah tried to convince ‘Rotana’ to postpone the release, arguing it was inappropriate while so many Lebanese civilians were dying from the Israeli offensive. Most music production companies in the Arab World postponed the release of albums during the war. The feature song “Hayati,” takes listeners through Asalah’s life’s journey. The album is her life transformed into music, said Asalah. Asalah dedicated the song “Bain Eidaik” (In Your Arms) to her husband Tareq. The album is Asalah’s first releases after divorcing her ex-husband Aiman Al Thahabi. Rumors began circulating that Asalah's ex-husband filed a lawsuit against her demanding that she pay a US$5 million fine for breaking their contract. Aiman claims Asalah signed a contract with him when they were married, giving him exclusive rights to her music. Asalah denied a contract existed and continues to characterize him as a bitter ex-husband. |

Eminem's ex-wife blasted the superstar rapper during a radio interview Friday, saying she has come to despise the man she twice married and divorced. Kim Mathers described Eminem as unfaithful and uncaring and even went as far as to disparage the Grammy winner's sexual prowess. "I vomit in my mouth whenever I'm around him," she said during the interview. Eminem's publicist, Dennis Dennehy, said he had no immediate response. Mathers said she saw the interview as her chance to turn the tables on the entertainer, who has used his tormented relationship with his high school sweetheart as a source of his most popular and demented rhymes. He has killed her off in song and attacked her with his lyrics. The relationship hit a new, dysfunctional high when Eminem filed divorce papers last April, less than three months after remarrying her. Their first marriage ended in 2001. Mathers said Friday she was "100 percent sure" they would never get back together. Eminem rose to stardom with a number of best-selling CDs and a starring role in the hit 2002 film 8 Mile. He has won nine Grammys, including best rap album for The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show and The Encore. He won an Oscar for the song "Lose Yourself" from 8 Mile ---------------------------------------------------------------- Busta Rhymes Arrested For Driving Without A License Busta Rhymes rapped "They're Out to Get Me" on his last album, and yesterday they did. Cops busted the hip hopper for tooling around Tribeca in his SUV without a valid driver's license, and prosecutors let him cool his heels behind bars for nearly 18 hours before arraigning him. Cops at first were willing to give Rhymes an appearance ticket and send him on his way, but the Manhattan district attorney's office told them to lock him up, sources said. "The disrespect for the law, when he has cases pending, is over the line," one law enforcement source said. Rhymes, 34, whose real name is Trevor Smith, pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license and a related violation, and was released on his own recognizance shortly before 11 p.m. The smirking singer said nothing as he strode out of Manhattan Criminal Court and drove away in such a hurry that one of his burly bodyguards was left behind. Prosecutors said Rhymes told investigators he may have been a bit testy with the arresting officers because he thought they were holdup men posing as the police. At the time of his arrest, prosectors said, Rhymes snarled, "You know me. You know who I am. You don't mean s---. You hide behind the shield. This is bull----." A few minutes later, he changed his tune and told cops he had "no idea" his license had been suspended and asked, "Can you help me out?" Rhymes is facing sentencing on two assault charges and was given a sweetheart plea offer: six months in jail or six months of anger-management classes and speaking to kids. Judge Abraham Clott said yesterday's charges would be combined with the assault cases. Rhymes was spotted by cops as he blew a red light in Tribeca about 5:20 a.m. yesterday, sources said. Police followed his 2006 GMC Suburban and stopped him at Warren St. and West Broadway. A computer check showed his license had been suspended Jan. 8 for ignoring a summons. The star has had a series of run-ins with cops since last February, when his bodyguard, Israel Ramirez, was shot dead outside a Brooklyn recording studio. Rhymes has refused to cooperate with the investigation or tell police what he knows about the slaying, cops said. |

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child with her partner and fellow screen idol Brad Pitt.
Vu Duc Long, head of the justice ministry's international child adoption department in Hanoi, Vietnam, said Friday the couple would be treated like anyone. "We received a file from Angelina Jolie through a U.S. organization a few days ago, asking for permission to adopt a child from Vietnam," he told Agence France Press. The Hollywood power couple visited an orphanage near Ho Chi Minh City during last November's Thanksgiving holiday and spent the day playing with children. "She is not yet married so the file was from her individually. It will take a few months for us to consider this," said Long. "We consider her like any other American who wants to adopt children from Vietnam." The couple have a baby daughter, Shiloh, born last May, as well as adopted children Maddox, five, from Cambodia, and Zahara, two, from Ethiopia. |

Fadel Shaker in advertising commercials One of the largest international telecom companies has chosen Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker to be the star for their mobile phones television commercials. The singer has filmed commercials for the company, which are published in different Arab magazines and newspapers. The singer had also recorded radio and television commercials for the company. Fadel was also participating in the annual Kuwaiti ´Hello February Festival´ on March 7, and will then head off to Morocco, Bahrain and other Arab countries to hold a series of concerts. The singer is also preparing to film a music video for the song "Illi Inta Shaifo" (What You See) from his latest album "Allah Aalam" (God Knows.) أنهت النجمة المتألقة نانسي عجرم تصوير أغنية (شاطر) جديدة للأطفال في العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت وفي إحدى مدارسها، وهي من كلمات منير بو عساف ، وألحان وسام بستاني، وإخراج سعيد الماروق. هذا وقد ظهرت النجمة بلوك مختلف تماما بنظارة وملابس كلاسيكية في الأغنية التي تقول بعض كلماتها: (ياللي بيسمع كلمة اهلو شو بنقلو،شاطر شاطر، يالي بيقعد عاقل وحدو،شو بنقل، شاطر شاطر ). ومن المقرر ترجمة الإغنية للإنجليزية ، كما انتهت نانسي من تسجيل ألبومها الجديد الذى يتضمن 7 أغنيات للأطفال واحدة منها باللهجة الخليجية وهي من كلمات سعد المسلم والحان الدكتور يعقوب الخبيزي، يذكر أن إحداهن والتي تحمل اسم (السلام) مقدمة لليونيسيف. |
