there is a code that you write in a notepad file and then save in a particular extension to restor the desktop icon to the taskbar quicklauch.
till i reach home and find how to do it, use winkey+ D
the winkey is the key that you find between the alt and the controle and mawjoud 3laya L windows logo.
(if you get used to the keyboard shortcut, you will not need the small icon anymore)

open a note pad and write this code:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

then save it as showdsktop.scf

According to what i understood from you :
You have deleted the "show desktop" icon in the quick launch menu ..

To restore it:
Put the File I uploaded in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Computer Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

this is the same abousoun, the file that you uploaded should be the same as the file that should be done using notepad...
