Dutch students have developed powdered alcohol which they say can be sold legally to minors.

The latest innovation in inebriation, called Booz2Go, is available in 20-gramme packets that cost 1-1.5 euros ($1.35-$2). Top it up with water and you have a bubbly, lime-colored and -flavored drink with just 3 percent alcohol content. "We are aiming for the youth market.

They are really more into it because you can compare it with Bacardi-mixed drinks," 20-year-old Harm van Elderen told Reuters. Van Elderen and four classmates at Helicon Vocational Institute, about an hour's drive from Amsterdam, came up with the idea as part of their final-year project. "Because the alcohol is not in liquid form, we can sell it to people below 16," said project member Martyn van Nierop.

The legal age for drinking alcohol and smoking is 16 in the Netherlands. In Germany, alcopops -- sweet drinks containing alcohol and in powder form -- caused quite a stir when launched on to the market.

Alcohol powder, classified as a flavoring, was sold in the United States three years ago. The students said companies interested in making the product commercially could avoid taxes because the alcohol was in powder form. A number of companies are interested, they said.


As we all know..in Lebanon anyone can buy any alcoholic drink he likes and drink it wherever he wants...plus alcohol is really cheap in Lebanon! what do u think about the the drinking problem in Lebanon especially that alcohol is the main problem that causes death in car accidents and among young drivers!

well for me,i really dont drink alcohol only beer:D,atiab chi el biira:D
and as for the probleme to lebanon i think tht the probleme is gettin'' bigger and teenagers are drinkin to much this is causing car accidents and idmen tht killes the life of som1

well i used to be a heavy drinker enno wselet la wa2et almost every day a bottle of vodka or wisky but thx god now im sober, i had a diet to loose weight and it helped me to stop drinking, im very greatfull, w i advice everyone who has a driking problem to stop early its better,

as for drinking and drinving eventhaught i was a heavy drinke i used to take carefull when im the driver i obliged myself many times to not drink so i can drive

Just a little information on the amount of Alcohol in some beverages :
Beer : around 5%
Wine : around 14 %
Vodka : 35 to 50 %
Whisky : minimum 40 %

So, know well what you are drinking ...
anyway, I dont drink :D

Well,I used to drink a lot,Vodka and Whisky was like water to me,but someone special :luv: asked me to stop and now I just drink water...
