quad core cpu from intel: the QX6700

intel has just launched a new and revolutionary cpu called the core 2 extreme,
wich is a extreme edition cpu, with QUAD core technology.
of course you have heard about pentium D wich is a Dual core cpu, (ka annou 3endkoun 2 cpus running, note that this is different from hyperthreading aka HT found is new Pentium 4).and few of you have heard of core 2 duo E6x00(E6300, E6400 with 2 mb L2 cache, E6600,E6700 with 4mb of L2 cache) wich is the best cpu in history (not my opinion, expert's) and the X6800 wich is an extreme edition dual core and the fastest cpu on the planet of earth.
Now intel introduces this quad core( ya3ne 3endkoun 4 cpus!!!), but this does not mean that it is 4 times faster, it depends on the application if it handles multicore or not. the clock speed of this cpu is 2.66ghz only, but this does not mean that your p4 3.0ghz for example is faster, nono, it is like 3times slower believe me.

and to use the dual core, will we be obliged to use specially coded softwares?

i am studying electronics, and we were discussing this type of CPUs, so i am interested in understanding how it will work!

and i think (speaking in electronics) that we will have a problem of temprature! coz all this speed of work with only 1.35V!!! (badna marwahet sayara la nbardou)!

guys you better read about PS3 with 6 CPUs (+ 1 will be added later).
each cell speed is 3.2 ghz (6 x 3.2).
you will be able to install an operating system on the coming PS3 because you will have already a hard disk on it with 2gb ram and 512mb VGA.
you should watch the PS3 presentation conference. it SCARES!
graphics TOP. they even show you videos and images you will never doubt they are virtual same for the games. xbox will go the garbeg once PS3 comes out
talking about intel, i personally don't like it and prefer AMD.
intell launch the task fastly but when it comes to long processing AMD rules! especially for games.
freezing risk is way less with AMD than intel.
i've tried both and happy with my AMD athlon

charles, there are new technology to low the temperature of the CPU and the case in general.
it's kind of air condition that covers the CPU and doesn't make any noise.
i've seen it at a friend of mine. really cool and way better than the marewi7

i read that sony will not be able to launch it before xmas, because of technical problems! and they r preparing themselves to loose a big number of money!!

and about the air condition cooling, it will be using more voltage and more energie, so will have a problem! we r trying to use the minimum ef energie!

charles, here is my answer,
1-yes windows works on everything as well as linux and mac os, multi cores ma 5assoun bel widows.
2-if the application benifits from multi core, it will work faster, otherwise, clock speed rules after the design.
3-i dunno
4-the qx6700 is cooled by air, and i think that it operates on different voltage, (beb2a bet2akkadlak), w ma bye7ma.
5-xcoder do not go off topic, seret adrab men tawa.
6-xcoder, view the benchmarks AMD is crap but yes, athlon64,athlon64 x2 are better than p4, pentium D specially in gaming.
7-the QX6700 has 8mb of L2 cache (2x4).
8-have a quick look guys at the benchmarks.

i searched on google about the air condition cooling for the cpus!!
and i found out that they r also using Liquid Nitrogen for some fast cpus (6 GHZ)! thank you for the infos! i needed it! now i have something to do for this night! yala good night guys! i will tell u the conclusion of my work!

ur wrong ! lol j/k but year ur wrong the ps3 will be released in USA november 24 on thanks giving and i will be the first on the door of Best Buy waiting to buy it XD i can't wait lol everyone do the same so people sleep before one night so they can get it or they will sold out
