Default Re: Sanity check: Is WiMAX almost here and will it unlock the next stage of the Inter

There is WiMAX in Lebanon, the company I was in before I travel was working on such project. Many international "giants" already implement this new technology, from RedLine in Canada, Navini in USA to NetGear in Australia (Those are the most reknown).
That local company (called Mobile Internetwork Solutions) signed a contract with Navini and it's running smoothly all over western Beirut. The only problem with Navini is that it uses proprietary NICs (you need their own card to get signal), another problem is that it's only forming a WAN thus you will get any broadband connectivity to get online (That local company currently uses bandwidth from vISP).
If you require contact information, I can provide them via PM.
