Default Re: من هو المسؤول عن الفراغ الرئاسي في لبنان؟

Nice thread but bad poll....There should have been two more options...

- More than one party/side/country
-I don't know

Anyway, I think more than a side are responsible to the state we are in today but in different proportions. A few notes on the behavior of each of them.

1-The way Junblat retreated from his older position as soon as the Annapolis conference started tells you that 14 march people are not against Aoun being president but they are part of a regional scheme. That alone is a crime, but forgetting that, they have been through the last couple of months the side that doesn't want serious negotiations. Ja3ja3 have refused to meet GMA and Franjieh at a time such a meeting would have been critical and important. More to come when talking about the US.

2- The USA were the most enthusiastic about the 50% +1 option and voiced several times that this is a very valid thing to do. When they realized that this won't be that easy and good of a step(especially before Annapolis) they preached what they called is the "quiet void". The "quiet void" is what is happening today so one can at least say that there will has been done whether they caused or not.

3- The opposition or more specifically HA. The matter of fact stays that 14 march have a majority in the parliament. HA were very shortsighted in many of their actions for the last two years. From their wacky election coalitions to participating in the government, their biggest mistake was not standing and shouting loud enough against the removal of the "majles l 3adle" and basically leaving GMA alone talking about this and leaving the republic with a false majority.

Many factors are intertwined, our real problems might start after Annapolis though...

Peace
