According to Alain Menargues's book, Aoun role during the LF invasion should have been:
1-enter the occupied areas, to provoque the war and give an excuse to Israel to attack West Beirut and "clean" it (operation l'etincelle eza my memory is corect).
2-When Israel finishes west beirut, (if the war was ignited by "l'etincelle" or not) Aoun should have entered it and cleaned it with the help of the LF "par tranche de salami" to make sure no terorists where still inside.
3-Take regions hostile to the LF freed by Israel when they finish cleaning them.

The freeing of the occupied parts of Lebanon by Syrian and Palestinian and the way to get Bachir to presidence was planned by Colonel Michel Aoun (same one as the general but in 80) and Antoine Najm and the document was finished on the 27 september 1980.
Aoun and Najm studied all the possibilities to accomplish the task and one of them was an Israely attack, the attack happened and everything was going on the track or close to it untill Bach was murdered, w mine wa2ta la hala2 farato l massi7iyi w fratna w fat7it l mazr3a mine jdid w byebye liban.
