The fact that they are released so often makes it a bigger problem. The game developers want to use the new technology (which makes very little difference in-game but ups the hardware requirements) which makes you need to upgrade your hardware.

If your ram breaks and you still got the warranty how long does it take to replace it? Two days to sending it,two days for them to examine it and package a new one, two days till it arrives. So about one week, which is about what it took for my brother to get his 360 replaced.

How often does something in your PC break and how often does a PS3 break?
