Germany trio face fitness battle

Germany's Mesut Ozil, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jerome Boateng face a race against time to be fit to face England in Sunday's FIFA World Cup™ last-16 clash, said coach Joachim Low.
Attacking midfielder Ozil's second-half goal gave Germany a 1-0 win over Ghana on Wednesday which fired them to the top of Group D and a date with Group C runners-up England in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
But the win came at a price as Ozil, the Budweiser Man of the Match, was left bent over at the final whistle, while vice-captain Schweinsteiger came off after 81 minutes with a muscle injury. And defender Boateng had to be replaced on 73 minutes with a back injury.
Loew said it was too early to give any more information on the injured trio, but admits all three are facing a race against time to be fit to face Fabio Capello's side. "If Schweinsteiger should fail, it would not be an advantage for our game," said the 50-year-old.
