the first question i asked myself is why you want to scan the book in your basement and not in your bedroom hehehehe so may be your looking to invent something that take space....
second question is why 3000 pages ????
third why u want to pay for the great idea???? may be your aiming to develop the idea and be a millionaire heheh
at the end a team of japanese are actually working on this scanner and they can scan a 200 pages book in 1 minute!!!! this scanner take lot of space so in this way u can use ur basement and u can scan a 3000 pages in 15 minutes which is super fast and no need to remove the binder of the book!!!!!
