ROM is a customizable system UI. I understand that you don't want to do that for now, and I don't advice you to do it as a start.

Kernel is a firmware version. So if you need to update your system you need to update a kernel. For example, I'm currently running android 2.3.3 and I want to update to android 2.3.5.
So you go to xda forums and lookup your phone's forum and search for its kernels. You get the latest one for your device.

Rooting is simple. Just get SuperOneClick and it does everything.

Google: HTC Sensation xda-developers and you'll find threads there
i already found this , http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1192300 , and nothing makes sense , wth is the hboot , how do i get there , do i connect my cell to the pc and work on the pc or do i work on my cell phone , the guide is very very complicated for noobs

And Systa, if rooting guides are too techy for you, maybe you shouldn't be rooting your phone.
Anyways, here's a noobproof guide for you. DO SOME READING.
nothing is too techy but the guides iv seen all assume that you know the basics , which most of us dont , ill check your link
