Even if it was true(wanting to die), the guy is desperate and not conscious of what he's wishing, so he doesn't have the necessary legal capacity to decide. In addition to that he's equal to a person who wants to commit suicide, would you help a man to suicide?
I would just wish him patience and the ability to be healed in the future by a miracle or with medical evolution.
