أكد السفير الأميركي في لبنان جيفري فيلتمان في اتصال هاتفي أمس مع النائب إبراهيم كنعان ان الكلام الذي نسب إلى مساعد وزيرة الخارجية الأميركية لشؤون الشرق الأوسط السيد دايفيد ولش عن العماد عون الذي ورد في صحيفتي اللواء والمستقبل هو عارٍ عن الصحة واللقاء كان جيداً وهادئاً وسوف يستكمل الحوار مع العماد عون من خلال السفير الأميركي بالرغم من الخلاف بين الجانبين حول مسألة حزب الله.

If we read between the lines here, we see a turning in the amrican policy towards the situation in Lebanon. The americans are not worth trust in anything, their business above all. And wherever their interests go, they go. USA is facing a crise over its foreign strategy and the congress is tying the rope around Bush neck. It will be translated soon enough in their attitude towards the opposition in Lebanon and Iraq, towards Syria and Iran also.
