A Newspaper that has a site, and most importantly,
IN ENGLISH!
You won't believe how many Lebanese people in the USA don't know arabic, and they only have Naharnet/Dailystar as their source. One relative of mine has been brainwashed beyond belief! Its too embarassing to mention exactly..
But don't worry, I straightened him out... He wishes there was an English site too..
here is an example of extreme bias:
a headline from the Dailystar:
Phalange demands armed group attacking members be dealt with
- this implies that there is an FPM militia on the ground that is driving around shooting people... there is no proof of course that it is the FPM
here is another example from the same article:
The Phalange Party's Wednesday statement reminded of "the attacks" executed during the last few days at some of the "Phalange offices in Kahaleh
The use of the word "execute" brings another meaning of "execution". They could have said "occured".
In addition, there is no proof whatsoever that the FPM has anything to do with this. The general implication of the whole article is basically saying that this is a premeditated planned act by the FPM and the Phalange are totally innocent.
It is portraying the FPM as the aggressors and if the Phalange attack back, they will have used this as justification. This tactic has often been used in the history of the Phalange Party...
"The Phalange Party honestly calls on both Lebanese divisions to interfere and stop the offenses before it is too late,"
