Unlocking and jailbreaking the iphone

Hey all , i was wondering to open this thread to see if anyone has informations about how to unlock and jailbroke an iphone , and what sorts of applications are the best over there .

And i heard that there is an offline GPS application for canada and america (i guess it is called tomtom gps) and i am interested in it because i live in canada

I can't remember exactly how i jailbroken my iphone few months ago.
But i remember something called yellowsn0w there's a nother one called redsn0w but the first is better.

There are plenty of tutorials online, check them =)

add this source to cydia:
http://cydia.hackulo.us
and install an application called INSTALLOUS u can download from it all the appstore apps for free

as for jailbreak and unlocking go to here and search for the version that u want and choose ur iphone brand they will give u all the instructions and its very easy to do it...

before advising jailbreaking or unlocking, you need to know what iphone you have:
2G, 3G or 3GS then what OS you have (1.1.4, 3.x, 3.1.2, ...)
then if you have 3GS you might also have the new iBoot making things even more complicated.

tbh, i don't care about what fatman said in this article, i'll wait for technical reviews (and my money) then i will get this phone. Android is on its way to smash iPhone OS. and i wont be an apple *****.

people like iphone for its simplicity and ease of use, this is the way with all apple products but like the mac,apple software, and many others they rip thousands of dollars from you for their services. I bet that you won't buy the iphone and use apple's plans if u were living in the usa or any country in which where you use the iphone legally.
