Diego Would Make Madrid Move Easy - Report

Diego is keen to complete his dream move to Real Madrid and would help the transfer along once things are in motion, according a report in Spain.

The Werder Bremen midfielder wants to join a European giant in orer to win trophies and is keen on teaming up with his former Santos teammate Robinho at the Bernabéu.

According to AS, if Madrid were to make their move then the Bundesliga side would accept a bid of around €18m, but they will only let him go next summer.

"It is very difficult to say no to Madrid," Diego's father, Djair Ribas de Cunha explained. "But nobody has made any contact with me."

Bernd Schuster has already stated that he a big fan of the Brazilian playmaker and has reportedly told the Madrid board that a creative midfielder is all that the squad is missing.

The German coach also believes that Werder would find it hard to resist a substantial offer for their star player. "They are a selling club," the coach was quoted as stating.

In Brazil, a friend of the player believes that Diego's desire to win things at the highest level could drive any deal through.

"It is frustrating for him to be in a team that cannot win anything," Fabiano Papeig said. "He has dreams and desires and Madrid could fulfil those.

"He wants to conquer Europe and although he is very comfortable in Bremen, he also wants to win trophies.

"I am sure that he would make a transfer to Madrid very simple."

Diego has penned an extension to his contract with Werder until 2011, but there has been no buy-out clause included and AS believe there is an unwritten agreement to allow him to talk to a bigger club if they make a bid.
