Ladies & Gentlemen, Is science the religion of the day???
Take a step back & think about it..." Scientific thought" supposedly emphasizes logical thought, but most of the ppl that exclaim its greatness so don't really understand what the **** science is talkin' about.. All the theories are just as ludicrous, all the ideas just as mind-bogglin', I claim that religion n science are basically one & the same but that's my personal opinion, what about urs? ... I think science is what we should believe, and religion is only a way of life.. Values and rules if you will... like "we should not lie, kill, etc..."
But what I trust the most is science. I am only Christian because my parents are Christian.. If they were Muslim I would have been Muslim etc.... For me, I'd give 1% of my thoughts to religion and 99% to science.

Science is,of itself, a form of religion. Man requires to believe in something, anything, so if not in God then what? Certainly not himself
mm actually like many others, I eventually accepted the scientific explanation of the origin and destiny of mankind. A growing number of people believe that we need a fresh, good and excellent dialogue between science and religion. I mean religion in its widest sense a belief in the value of human life. Maybe the world really is a magical place eno leh la2? where ghosts and other mysteries can be explained in terms of science. A science we have yet to discover bl iyem li jeye!I think that the apparent contest between science and religion is a false one brought to us by history. A person honestly searching for God should not be afraid of a search for fact in science. Man believes in his creations perhaps in the vain hope that someday, man's creations will believe in him. i also believe that both ( science w religion) have a clear and defining place in any society, one operating as a base from which to learn and the other as a base to guide moral decisions.

Science is the result of experiments that can be validated and repeated to give the same results. It is collecting the facts and explaining them through theories that work the same every time they are put into practice. Science never stops, you never say about a science book that it is the best book ever published and the best to ever be.
Religion is the art of articulating superstition into something semi-coherent. It is guesswork done by unenlightened people who lived thousands of year ago in tents. It is man's failed attempt to understand the world around him. A menace to humanity, an opium to the people and the gravest danger our planet faces. A simple fact tells u ya JUSTIN why you should trust science even if you don't have enough time to examine every single theory. In scientific discourse, when a scientist finds a theory he is always opposed by other scientists of the same domain. Only until he is able to present enough evidence that they all, to their dismay, have to accept that his theory is true. It is unfair to compare them, and yes they are at war and they always will be because one is the art of using the faculty of reason and the other is ,through faith, the art of putting that faculty into complete idleness. So JUSTIN, before you compare them somehow, remember that your children, because of science, will know better about the nature of the cosmos, human bodies, and everything around us than the writers of the bible or quraan. Augustine, the biggest theologian in the history of Christianity, thought that sickness is the result of demons and the presence of Jews in Europe. I bet you would prefer a doctor today than someone who believes what Augustine said. Religious people had it both ways, they benefit from the achievements of science while denying its importance. Hypocrisy, a very important aspect of the life of religious ppl. Belief in belief. May scientists, the real prophets of reason, continue their blessed work and may we see a day where ppl throw away their superstition and know that religion is as valid as horoscopes. Amen.....and Awomen Last edited by Gilgamesh; 12-19-2007 at 03:16 AM. |
